In a joyful and festive atmosphere, the ‘Fruit Festival and Cultural Program’ was held, organized by the Rajshahi Division Branch of the Rajshahi University Bangla Department Alumni 2026. With the spontaneous participation of former students, teachers, and invited guests of the University of Rajshahi, the event turned into a vibrant reunion.
The program was presided over by Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Wahab, President of the Rajshahi Division Committee of the Bangla Department Alumni. The chief guest was poet Jamil Raihan, former President of the Central Committee.
Special guests included Professor Dr. Shahid Iqbal, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Ali (Principal, Rajshahi College), Professor Dr. Shikha Sarkar (Principal, Rajshahi New Government Degree College), and Md. Manikul Islam, Department of Bangla, University of Rajshahi.
The event featured a rich collection of seasonal local fruits such as mango, jackfruit, litchi, jam, and pineapple. Participants enjoyed the fruits along with nostalgic conversations and friendly gatherings. Former students recalled their memorable days at the university.
In his presidential speech, Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Wahab said that such programs further strengthen relationships and harmony among former students.
Chief guest poet Jamil Raihan said that such events not only deepen the bond among students but also promote interest in local fruits and encourage health awareness.
The organizers stated that the main objective of this program was to strengthen communication and social bonding among former students. They expressed their commitment to organizing such reunions regularly in the future.
