Most people don’t think arriving 15 minutes early can make much of a difference. Hayson Tasher Sr. sees it differently. For the Gardena, California-based founder of OLDPGS, success isn’t about luck or recognition; it’s about the habits you practice every day. Showing up on time, taking pride in your appearance, and approaching every responsibility with the right attitude are all part of what he believes creates long-term success. In a world where shortcuts are often celebrated, Hayson continues to champion the value of strong work ethics and personal accountability.
Hayson believes that work ethics are reflected in everyday actions. One example he often points to is the value of being on time. Rather than rushing to meet deadlines or appointments, he prefers to leave early and arrive ahead of schedule. In his view, arriving 15 minutes early is far better than arriving 15 minutes late.
This mindset helps reduce stress and demonstrates respect for clients, colleagues, and opportunities.According to Hayson, the phrase “better late than never” has become overused. He argues that in many industries, people would not accept late service, whether waiting for a meal at a restaurant or receiving a paycheck. For him, reliability remains one of the most important qualities a professional can possess.
Building OLDPGS Through Experience and Dedication
The journey to creating OLDPGS began with a realization. Hayson recognized that he had invested heavily in himself through professional certifications and industry training. With certifications ranging from bail bondsman qualifications to investigation certifications, he felt prepared to create something of his own.
Founded in 2018, OLDPGS was built on that foundation of experience and self-investment. The organization provides a variety of services, including free Consultation, armed and unarmed uniformed security officers, loss prevention, investigations, SB1626 school security, alarm response, and additional security-related services.
The company operates with the guiding principles reflected in its quotes: “Security you can count on” and “Dedicated to a safe and secure environment.”Hayson’s hands-on approach is one of the factors he believes sets him apart from competitors. Rather than remaining behind a desk, he stays active both in the field and in Management. He works alongside affiliates and officers while also helping oversee operations, giving him direct insight into the realities of the security industry.
His career includes a wide range of experiences. Looking back to 1998, Hayson participated in a comedy sketch for “Extreme Gong Show,” a revival of The Gong Show, at Hollywood Center Studios. He also appeared on the dating game show “Change of Heart” during the 1990s. Additionally, he served in the USMC theater program.
His professional achievements in the security field include assignments at notable venues such as the Fonda Theatre, where he personally provided security for Mavis Staples of the Staple Singers. He also worked security for the LA Chapter Grammy Awards featuring Nickelback, handled concert security involving The Neighbourhood, and was part of the security detail for Harry Styles’ private SiriusXM listener event at the Roxy Theatre.
Opportunity, Passion, and the Future
Hayson believes that opportunity is available to many people, but success ultimately depends on what an individual does with it. He emphasizes that a person’s work ethics and passion determine the outcome of any opportunity they receive.Among the achievements he is most proud of are the Pasadena Business Hall of Fame inductions recognizing both himself and OLDPGS in 2022 and 2023. These milestones reflect years of dedication and commitment to professional excellence.
Looking ahead, Hayson envisions continued growth for OLDPGS. His future plans include retail locations featuring Old Patrolman Brand products, security training centers, and an OLDPGS sister events-only security firm. His message remains straightforward: life is what you make it. By maintaining a positive attitude, presenting yourself professionally, and performing consistently, he believes anyone can position themselves for success. Through OLDPGS, Consultation services, and active Management, Hayson Tasher Sr. continues to advocate for the values that have guided his own journey.
