“A girl from a small city; with big dreams” is the mantra of Remi Jones, a multimedia personality known for her self-titled television show, Remi TV. The show covers a range of topics including music, art, lifestyle, business, relationships, and inspiration. It has gained widespread popularity and has been syndicated on TV-9 and the PEG network. Remi has interviewed a diverse range of celebrities and entrepreneurs, including Dame Dash, Joey Fatone, Wyclef Jean, Lil Mo, Remy Ma, and DJ Kay Slay, and has been featured in national outlets such as Forbes, Yahoo, Bossip, Sheen Magazine, Thrive Global, HipHop Weekly, and Hot 97.

What got you started in social media?
“My television show got me into social media,” says Remi. In order to promote her show and expand her reach, Remi recognized the importance of building a strong presence on social media platforms.

How do you use each of your social media platforms?

“I use my social media in different ways depending on the platform,” says Remi. On Instagram, she posts behind-the-scenes clips and reels from her show and red carpet events. On YouTube, she posts full episodes of Remi TV for viewers to watch their favorite celebrity and influencer interviews.

What was your most successful video and why?

“My most successful video was my clip from my interview I did with the Family Matters cast,” says Remi. “The reason why that video was so successful was because it was funny and because Family Matters was a very popular show. People love to laugh and have a great time and that clip brought in a great audience.”

With all of the platforms in “flux,” where do you see social media in 5 years?

“I see social media growing in 5 years,” says Remi. “These days creators are finally able to get paid to post their talents, and I am here for it. I think it was well overdue and they deserve it. As far as Twitter is concerned, I feel like if it’s not broke then don’t fix it.”

What do you think is the secret to “going viral”?

“My opinion on going viral is there is no secret,” says Remi. “I feel like some things hit and some things don’t. Some people choose to hurt themselves or humiliate themselves just to go viral and that’s not the way. Continue to be yourself and you never know what can happen.”

How does your TV show operate? Is it exclusively web?

“My show airs on television on the TV-9 network in Massachusetts,” says Remi. “You can also find my show, Remi TV, on Pandora, iHeartRadio, Apple Podcast, Google Podcasts, and more.”
