To start with, you must connect your router to a computer either wirelessly or using an Ethernet cable. During the process, if you see Xfinity Router blinking orange, restart the device.   1. Open an internet browser on your computer.
  2. Type the IP address, in the browser’s address bar and press Enter.
  3. On the router login page, enter the username and the password and click on “Login”. You can find the details in the user manual that comes along with the router and at the back or bottom of the router.
  4. Once you are logged into the admin console of the router, click on the “Wireless” tab.
  5. Enter the new WiFi name in the blank field and then enter it again to confirm.
  6. Click on the “Apply” button to save the changes.
  7. Log out of the router admin console.
