Jim Browning has spent much of his life helping people move forward.

Based in Colorado, Browning is the founder of JB Services and co-founder of RNK Running & Walking. At the center of both organizations is a simple belief: We Rise by Lifting Others. Whether working with founders, family businesses, private equity groups, nonprofits, or individual leaders, his focus has remained remarkably consistent. Businesses matter, but people matter more.

What began with engineering principles and operational leadership evolved into something much larger. Over time, Browning discovered that the greatest opportunities for growth were rarely found in systems or spreadsheets alone. They were found in helping people gain clarity, define their purpose, and align their lives and organizations around what matters most.

Today, JB Services brings together a team of experienced professionals from a wide range of industries and disciplines. Through a flexible network of specialists, the organization supports clients with strategy, operations, finance, technology, mergers and acquisitions, leadership development, and organizational transformation. The goal is never to force a one-size-fits-all solution, but to bring together the right people and perspectives to meet each challenge.

Throughout his career, Jim Browning and the JB Services team have worked alongside organizations during some of their most important seasons. They have helped founders build and transition businesses capable of providing opportunities for generations to come. They have lifted the weight from owners who found themselves trapped inside businesses that had quietly become prisons disguised as success. They have supported leaders navigating mergers, acquisitions, and new private equity ownership, helping them understand changing expectations while preserving the values and cultures that made their organizations successful in the first place.

As a lifelong runner and coach, Browning often speaks about what he calls the “dark miles.” These are the seasons when progress feels slow, uncertainty clouds the path ahead, and leaders begin to question themselves. Through his writing and coaching, he reminds people that the dark miles are not empty. They develop resilience, humility, gratitude, and connection. More importantly, they remind us that no meaningful journey is meant to be carried alone.

Those same ideas shaped RNK Running & Walking in Colorado. What began as a specialty running store grew into a community built around movement, friendship, and shared experiences. Through stores, coaching programs, races, and youth initiatives, RNK became a reflection of the belief that businesses can create moments of connection and strengthen communities far beyond any transaction.

Across everything he builds, Browning returns to a few enduring ideas. Purpose comes before planning. Structure creates freedom. Success is measured less by what someone accumulates and more by what they contribute. And while businesses can create wealth, the greatest returns are found in the lives changed, the families strengthened, and the communities lifted along the way.

Today, Jim Browning and the team at JB Services, based in Colorado, continue to work alongside leaders throughout the United States and Central America. Their mission remains unchanged: to help others define their purpose, navigate their own dark miles, and move forward with clarity, courage, and hope.

Because in the end, building great businesses is important.

Building lives worth living is even more so.
