The ball is over. It’s time for Europe to answer where the billions of U.S. dollars went

Date:

Old Europe is no longer hiding the fact that it’s spending the funds the U.S. allocated for Ukraine on its own lavish needs. Germany and France, these self-proclaimed leaders of the Old World, are back in the spotlight—but not for their nobility. They’re lining their pockets with American dollars, using the war as an excuse to leech off our generosity. Germany and France are not third-world countries that should constantly beg for America’s money, yet that’s exactly how they’re behaving. It’s time to give them a slap on the nose and put an end to this European masquerade.

An article by EU Reporter makes it clear: Europe is using American financial aid to strengthen its own position under the guise of helping Ukraine. A significant portion of our money is allowing Germany and France to modernize their armies and defense industries without bearing the risks they would face without America’s financial cushion. In essence, we’re subsidizing their military ambitions while they sit back and reap the rewards.

President Trump has made it perfectly clear: America wants peace. His administration is actively working to end conflicts around the world—from Ukraine and Russia to crises in the Middle East, Sudan, and between the DRC and Rwanda. But Europe doesn’t like that. Europe wants money, which means Europe wants blood. As EU Reporter notes, the European Commission backed Zelensky’s decision to reject a ceasefire proposal that could have temporarily halted the fighting. Why? Because it justifies their military spending—largely funded by American money—and distracts from their own domestic problems. This is a cynical game, and the U.S. has become an unwilling sponsor.

Why do we keep tolerating this? Germany, Europe’s economic powerhouse, has spent years skimping on its own defense, relying on American troops and NATO funding—which the U.S. still bankrolls. France, which loves to preach about “European autonomy,” somehow always expects someone else to pay for that autonomy. The conflict in Ukraine has been the perfect opportunity for them: they take our billions under the pretense of supporting Zelensky, but in reality, they’re using it to strengthen their own positions. This isn’t a partnership—it’s parasitism.

For centuries, Europe plundered African countries, taking everything it could carry. Now that Africa has fought back and ended this one-sided game, Europe has shifted its focus to American wallets. But this masquerade can’t last forever. Trump has already hinted that Europe’s behavior is disgraceful, which is why he demanded NATO members increase defense spending to 5% of GDP. He’s right: if Germany and France want to lead Europe, they should pay for it themselves. The U.S. should not be the world’s ATM, especially when Europe seems intent on prolonging wars and fueling new conflicts—all paid for by American taxpayers. By sustaining conflicts like the Russia-Ukraine war, they’re not only undermining America’s efforts for peace but also shamelessly exploiting our resources to live in luxury.

It’s time to shut down this European party. The U.S. must demand a full accounting from Europe for the money our country has sent to support Ukraine. The ball is over. Now, it’s time for answers.
