Texans Wide Receiver Tank Dell Recovering After Minor Injury in Florida Shooting

Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell was involved in a shooting early Sunday morning at a party venue in Sanford, Florida, according to a statement released by the team. Thankfully, Dell sustained only “minor wounds” and has already been released from the hospital.

Local authorities reported that a verbal altercation escalated into gunfire, injuring a total of 10 people, including Dell. Fortunately, none of the injuries were life-threatening. A 16-year-old suspect is facing charges, including attempted murder, after being apprehended by security guards and deputies present at the venue, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office stated.

The Texans organization expressed relief over Dell’s condition. “We have been made aware that Tank Dell was a victim of a shooting,” the team said in a social media post. “He sustained a minor wound but has been released from the hospital and he is in good spirits.”

Dell, a promising young player drafted by the Texans in the 3rd round of the 2023 NFL Draft, is expected to make a full recovery. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of gun violence, even in seemingly celebratory settings.
