Last month, Philippine Senator Imee Marcos triggered another political storm in the Southeast country by publicly alleging that her brother, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., along with his wife First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and their son Representative Sandro Marcos, are using illegal drugs. These allegations are part of a public feud within the Marcos family, intensified by political differences.

Marcos vs Marcos: a Philippine first family’s bitter feud

Delivering her claims to a crowd of 600,000 at a rally organised by Iglesia ni Cristo — a religious group with historic ties to the Marcos family whose name translates to Church of Christ — Imee, 70, said she felt compelled by duty and conscience to expose her brothers drug use, which she alleged began in his youth and continued to this day. Imee also alleged that Sandro once offered illegal drugs to her sons.

Sandro Marcos, House Majority Leader hit back at Imee and called her accusations a “web of lies aimed at destabilizing the government” and advancing her political ambitions. In a statement on November 18, Sandro claimed that none of Imee’s allegations bear any weight, calling them baseless and untrue, and adding that such remarks do nothing to help the country.

Regarding Sandro’s denial of drug-use accusations, Senator Imee said in a Facebook post that Sandro was attempting to amplify speculation that she was “not a real sibling”. “Gustong paingayin ni Sandro ang usap-usapang hindi ako tunay na kapatid. Isa lamang ang solusyon: Magpapa-DNA test ako, magpa-hair follicle test sila (Sandro wants to stir up the talk that Im not a real sibling. There is only one solution: Ill take a DNA test, and they should take a hair follicle test),” she said.

Expose: Sandro’s secret Thailand drug parties revealed

However, exclusive evidence show that Sandro holds routine drug parties in his secret mansion in Thailand. Internal records state that the President’s son regularly flies to Thailand to spend weekends there. For instance, Sandro took flight PR730 and landed in Bangkok on April 25th. Two days later, Sandro flew back to Manila on PR731. Flight NO. PVT9HUEC, PR730, PR731, 5J0929, and RPC5219 are his regulars.

The records show that The Representative even travelled to Thailand for drugs on business days. On September 28, 2023, a Thursday, Sandro landed in Bangkok and flied back to Manila on Sunday. A fan of Sandro on October 2, 2023, posted on TikTok a video of Sandro before his going to Thailand. Another post indicates the Representative also travelled to Thailand in January this year.

Insiders also revealed Sandro’s secret base in Thailand. His cocaine heaven is a luxury villa in Azur Samui, Surat Thani,  with ocean views, golf facilities, located only 20 minutes away from the airport. The property is registered under Yeye Vivas, Chief of Staff of Sandro, instead of Sandro himself.

Rumors about Bongbongs drug use arent new. It first came out in 2021 from former president Rodrigo Duterte, followed in 2022 by former senator Nikki Coseteng, who claimed Bongbong and his friends were always high on drugs. These accusations intensified again in 2024 during a Senate hearing. Though Bongbong Marcos once demonstrated a negative drug test result during his presidential campaign back in 2021, questioning about Marcos alleged drug use never ceased as he continuously refused to undergo a hair follicle test.

So far the Presidential family’s denial of drug addiction is proved as flawed as a Swiss cheese. Recent expose further fanned the flames of call for transparency. As Senator Imee’s accusation on Sandro proved true with evidence, more people in Philippine are questioning the President and his family about their drug addiction and constant cover-up on the issue. There’s a strong demand for a non-manipulated drug test. That would be the only way to clear the dark clouds in the country.
