Dutch entrepreneur Mandy Buddenberg builds a niche lifestyle and fashion platform for edgy, tomboy, queer, and alternative women, and invites like-minded brands to grow with her.

Not Your Typical Fashion Blog
itismandystyle.com is an online magazine for women that covers fashion and lifestyle in a way that has its own identity and point of view, aimed at women who do not conform to the stereotypical image portrayed by major fashion brands typically marketed towards women: edgy women, tomboyish women, lesbian women, emo or goth women.
The Woman Behind the Brand
Mandy Buddenberg is an Amsterdam-based entrepreneur and part-time social healthcare worker who has been running an online blog since 2022. The original blog was called iammandyb.com, but over time it developed into what is now known as itismandystyle.com. Mandy has also managed numerous other websites (in Dutch and English, like for example carrieretijd.nl) including an international finance news blog called Money Diggers which will be launching soon, www.moneydiggers.com is the site which is live already.
The common thread throughout all of Mandy’s projects is empowerment; on this website, that empowerment is expressed through fashion that conveys a range of emotions, with style reflecting one’s own personal experience, rather than being used as a means of self-promotion.
What the Platform Covers
The website features a variety of fashion, beauty, alternative styling, tomboyish styles and lifestyle stories, referencing style icons such as Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Rita Ora not as idolised icons to aspire to be like but as evidence that non-mainstream fashionable clothing has been around for many years.
Recent articles on the site have included discussions about the fashion icons of the ’90s street culture, the significance of Dr. Martens shoes in pop culture and the question of whether we have finally reached the end of the SKIMS brand. Additionally, such as to remain consistent with the idea that great style shouldn’t have to come with a hefty price tag, Budget Society (a future extension of the website focusing on budget-conscious fashion) is also in development.
An Open Invitation to Smaller Brands
They are also looking for smaller independent edgy or queer-friendly companies that are trying to reach the female audience that larger traditional media types continue to ignore, through collaborations with the Niche website instead of using traditional marketing methods.
The collaboration page is open. The audience is ready.
