The Product Certificate of Conformity (PCOC) is an essential document for regulated products entering Saudi Arabia. It certifies that a product complies with the technical regulations and standards set by the Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization (SASO). Qdot is one of the companies that provide PCOC Certificates, offering expert guidance to ensure businesses comply with all regulations efficiently and without delays. Here are the steps to obtain a PCOC
1. Register on the Saber Platform
- Begin by creating an account on the Saber portal. This is where you’ll manage the certification process for your products.
- Provide accurate details about your company and its activities to ensure a smooth application process.
2. Identify Product Category and Applicable Standards
- Classify your product to determine if it is regulated or non-regulated.
- For regulated products, identify the specific SASO technical regulations that apply to your product.
3. Select an Approved Certification Body
- Choose a SASO-approved Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) to evaluate your product.
- These bodies conduct the necessary inspections and testing to verify compliance with relevant standards.
4. Submit Product Information and Documentation
- Provide the CAB with detailed product information, including technical specifications, test reports, user manuals, and labels.
- Additional documents such as quality management certificates (ISO, if applicable) may also be required.
5. Product Evaluation and Testing
- The CAB will review your product details and conduct required laboratory tests.
- If the product meets all regulatory requirements, the CAB will approve the issuance of the PCOC Certificate.
6. Receive the PCOC
- Once approved, the PCOC is issued electronically through the Saber platform.
- This certificate is valid for one year and is required before applying for the Shipment Certificate of Conformity (SCOC).
