A light and sweet sauce to accompany the meat. With apple, onion and spices we will make a rich sauce with few calories. Delicious!
Ingredients for the applesauce recipe
- 3 apples
- 1 small onion
- 1/2 teaspoon of flour
- 150 ml semi-skimmed milk
- Salt
- Ground black pepper
- Olive oil
- Cinnamon powder
- Ginger

How to make the apple sauce recipe?
- To make the apple sauce, we first prepare the ingredients and then cook them.
- First, we will peel the apples and cut into small cubes. The onion is cut into small squares.
- In a frying pan with a drizzle of olive oil, poach the onion. Later we add the apple. It will be ready when they are golden brown.
- In another pan, we cook the flour without burning it and add the semi-skimmed milk to make the apple sauce. We leave a few minutes over medium heat, stirring from time to time. Season and add pepper. After about 15 minutes, add the onion and apple, a pinch of cinnamon and ginger. We stir everything, remove it from the pan and place the apple sauce in the blender glass or a suitable container for it.
- We blend the apple sauce with the mixer for a few minutes until we get a fine sauce without chunks. And … enjoy the apple sauce! Delicious!
Tips for Making Applesauce:
- If you want to add a “caramelized” touch to the apples in the sauce, all you have to do is, when poaching the onion and apple in the pan, add a couple of tablespoons of brown sugar. Stir until everything is caramelized and continue with the recipe as I explain.
- Normally I use yellow apples (golden type) but if you want, you can use green apples. Of course, in this case, the apple sauce will have a slightly more acidic touch.
