Growing up, we all heard that particular someone has the potential to kill themself. Then we saw the news about how a person didn’t attempt suicide but got murdered. The people who were their rivals tend to get caught in the whole of this fiasco. Even though they always said that they didn’t have anything to do with the person who had died.
Ramona Carter’s suicide was nothing less than a nightmare for her family. As stated by her mother,”It’s been like a nightmare for me,” said Stephanie Carter, Ramona’s mother. “It’s been an absolute nightmare.”
The psychology behind understanding the suicidal cases that were considered murders solely presented to defame someone from higher public status or an organization is quite complex. Nobody can pinpoint exactly why Stephanie Carter tried to defame the Kansas City Police Department, but her malicious intentions are no mystery anymore.
In 2017, Police found Ramona Cater unresponsive in her Kansas City home. Her boyfriend told investigators he was shocked to see her hanging from an electrical cord in the basement.Right from the onset, this was an open and shut case, but Stephanie Carter couldn’t digest it the reason being she failed to be the mother she was supposed to be when her daughter needed her the most.
To take the weight off her shoulders, she tried to blame everyone she could, and the Kansas City Police Department was obviously the easiest target. Firstly, she claimed that the first responders noted there were no noticeable ligature marks on the neck or signs of deformities to the spine but never mentioned anywhere or told anyone who were the first responders. Medical examiners decided not to do a full autopsy and ruled Ramona Carter’s death a suicide by hanging.
In response to this accusation, the Jackson County Medical Examiner told the media
“The circumstances and the external examination did not yield any inconsistencies or significant questions as to cause and manner of death. Therefore, the decision was made not to perform an autopsy,”
In accordance with NAME’s Forensic Autopsy Performance Standards, an autopsy is performed by a forensic pathologist when:
- The death is known or suspected to have been caused by apparent criminal violence;
- The death is unexpected and unexplained in an infant or child;
- The death is associated with police action;
- The death is apparently non-natural and in the custody of a local, state, or federal institution;
- The death is due to acute workplace injury;
- The death is caused by apparent electrocution;
- The death is by apparent intoxication by alcohol, drugs, or poison unless a significant interval has passed, and the medical findings and absence of trauma are well documented;
- The death is caused by unwitnessed or suspected drowning;
- The body is unidentified, and the autopsy may aid in identification;
- The body is skeletonized;
- The body is charred;
- The forensic pathologist deems a forensic autopsy is necessary to determine the cause or manner of death, or document injuries/disease, or collect evidence;
- The deceased is involved in a motor vehicle incident and an autopsy is necessary to document injuries and/or determine the cause of death.
Ramona Carter’s case doesn’t fall under any of the above-mentioned categories. Still,Stephanie Carter refused to accept the reality. It’s been almost five years since Ramona committed suicide, but Stephanie Carter is still making up stories in her head and defaming the Kansas City Police Department and its authorities by playing the sympathy card in the media. She has accused over 40 people in this case without a single proof that clearly shows her mental state.
The conclusion is that you should think twice before believing anything that the media shows you. Learn to be rational when you see something that might affect you emotionally. Not everything on media requires you to act instantly.
