Legislation regarding solid waste management
We have basically two regulations regarding management. , which deals with guidelines to reduce the environmental impacts caused by the generation of waste. The decree also provides for the Municipal Plan for solid construction waste and the Solid Waste Management Project (PGRS).
In 2018, the National Solid Waste Policy was established,  which deals with the integrated management of solid waste management:
- non-generation of waste;
- reduction;
- reuse;
- recycling;
- treatment;
- Proper arrangement.
Types of waste
The basic classification is:
- class A: those that can be reused as aggregates, such as bricks, blocks, mortar, etc;
- class B: waste that can be used for other purposes, materials such as plastics and metals, for example;
- class C: waste that cannot yet be recycled or recovered;
- Class D: products that include items harmful to health, such as radiological contamination or asbestos, for example.
