In 2024, Fang Xu, a product designer focused on enterprise analytics, contributed to a new wave of digital transformation within J.D. Power, a global authority in automotive data and intelligence. His work supported the evolution of multiple analytics platforms—including IQS Live and CSI Live— both now recognized among the company’s fastest-growing SaaS solutions, delivering near real-time insights into product quality and customer service.

As part of the New Product Development (NPD) team, Xu strengthened the design foundation that connects J.D. Power’s data products into a cohesive ecosystem. He focused on improving the way users interact with large-scale datasets—transforming information complexity into clear, actionable workflows. Through systematic refinement of component libraries, scalable design tokens, and unified filter logic, Xu helped create a visual and operational language that allows thousands of analysts and clients to explore, compare, and act on insights within seconds.

For IQS Live, Xu designed and implemented a semantic data model that organized millions of quality reports into a unified analytical structure. This innovation shortened internal reporting cycles and helped drive a multi-fold increase in platform adoption year over year. The model connects survey responses, classification logic, and visual diagnostics—allowing engineers and managers to identify recurring issues by region, model, or time frame, and to codify reusable best-practice templates across teams.

In parallel, Xu’s UX work on CSI Live supported the modernization of J.D. Power’s long-standing Customer Service Index (CSI) program, which benchmarks vehicle owners’ satisfaction with dealership service experiences. His redesign integrated customer feedback and repair-visit data into interactive dashboards that visualize metrics such as wait times, service quality, and facility experience in a clear, comparative format. Features such as threshold alerts, benchmarking views, and mobile-optimized layouts empowered frontline managers to act on data within a single operational shift. These design improvements helped the platform achieve rapid commercialization and adoption within its first year.

Beyond the new platforms, Xu’s earlier design work on PIN+ continued to generate value throughout 2024. After achieving a breakthrough in 2023, the platform’s revenue grew nearly tenfold since 2022, underscoring the scalability and resilience of the design framework Xu helped establish. Built on J.D. Power’s extensive Point-of-Sale transaction data network, which captures millions of retail vehicle transactions across thousands of franchised dealers, PIN+ provides near real-time access to pricing, incentive, and market analytics. Xu focused on unifying the interface and visualization system to make these dense data sets more accessible and actionable for analysts and OEM clients.

Architectural consistency among these products—in component layers, filter logic, and permission models—substantially reduced cross-product training and maintenance costs. Users can now conduct integrated analysis across pricing, product quality, and service experience within a unified design framework. This analytical continuity supports stronger evidence chains across pricing strategy, warranty optimization, and customer-experience improvement—driving both higher engagement and renewal rates.

Collectively, these outcomes highlight Fang Xu’s contribution to bridging human-centered design and data intelligence within complex enterprise environments. His ongoing roadmap focuses on design-system unification, accessibility optimization, and AI-assisted analytics that connect anomalies with root-cause insights—further reinforcing the company’s leadership in data-driven enterprise innovation.
