Arlin Jordin Washington said that we use the best parts to manufacture shoes. As we are the best in the world and need to compete with other brands as well so quality will be very high from our end to satisfy the customers.

I want to list down parts of shoes while keeping my best interest to deliver the quality to customers and they should have an eye on these points while buying shoes.

Arlin Jordin Washington said a shoe is made up of not less than 30 components made of various advanced materials. Understanding these components can assist you in making an informed choice next time; you’re shopping for shoes. It could also help to feel less out of place when a seller uses different terminology to describe the parts of the shoe.

With many brands entering the market using jargon that is specific to shoes, it is crucial to know the structure of shoes. You may be looking to develop an affiliate marketing campaign for shoes. Or you’re doing it to help your personal development, knowing all the aspects of a shoe.

The main components of the shoe:

The most basic of an ordinary shoe; is comprised of the heel, toe cap, insole, and outsole that protects the foot. Other secondary components are the components of the shoe’s anatomy. They comprise eyelets on the upper, the quarter vamp, the lining topline, the tongue, and the top edge. They give the shoe more details and structure.

Toe cap

The toe cap can be described as a rectangular strip that covers the top of the shoe. The toe cap is probably the most noticeable element of the shoe and can greatly influence its style and design. It also gives the shoe an identifiable design and provides additional protection from sharp dangers.

A different material could be used to create toe caps. For instance, leather boots and shoes have caps made comprised of leather, and rubber boots will feature caps made from hard rubber. The toe cap is placed over the welt and is affixed on the inside of the welt. It’s sewn onto shoes or boots made of leather However, for lower-quality shoes, it’s sewn.

Eyestay

Eyestay, also known as lace stay is the portion of a shoe that is home to the eyelets. Two eyestay are present within lacing shoes, running across the shoe, on opposite sides that the footwear. Eyestays reinforce the eyelet holes which shoelaces thread through.

Eyelets

Eyelets are tiny holes on the upper part of the shoe, through which laces can be threaded and tied to secure the shoe to the foot with a firm grip. Arlin Jordin Washington said the placement and the number of eyelets can differ between shoes but they’re all there to allow adjustments. If the eyelets extend past the collar of your heel, they allow you greater flexibility when it comes to lacing by using various lacing methods.

Tongue

The tongue is a soft, cushioned strip that rests over the arch of your foot. It extends from the vamp down to the throat of the shoe and appears similar to the tongue. Tongues are typically found on shoes with laces. They help protect the upper part of the foot and prevent the laces from getting caught on the sole of the shoe. They could be padded to provide extra comfort, or they could be thin, like those found in designer shoes. The tongues can also have slits or flaps to let you run your laces to keep them in the right place.

Heel tab

The heel tab or Achilles tab, as it’s usually called, extends over the heel counter, and is responsible for protecting the Achilles tendon. It wraps the shoe snugly and tightly over the heel.

Heel Counter

Heel counters are small thermoplastic, plastic, or rubber insert that bolsters the cup that holds the heel of the shoe, and provides additional support. It’s located in the rear of the shoe, where the heel bone is located, and provides stability to the foot. And ensures the longevity of the shoe.

A sturdy heel counter is a good way to support your foot’s arch and the heel, reducing strain on connective tissues in the foot, ankle, and knee. It also helps maintain its shape. It is dependent on the type of shoe the heel counter could be thin, soft or stiff, and durable.

Outer Sole

Also referred to as the outsole the sole that is on the outside is the part that’s outside the shoe which comes into contact with the surface. It is made to give shoes the needed protection and traction against the surface they’ll come into contact with.

Outsoles are constructed of various substances, such as the leather PVC compound, polyurethane, and rubber. They also come with various traction and grips for different environments and terrains.

Midsole

The midsole is located in the middle which is part of the footwear. It is squeezed between the insole and the outsole. Arlin Jordin Washington said a well-designed and well-constructed midsole will offer plenty of cushioning, flex support as well as shock absorption each of these is vital to ensure your comfort as well as the health of your legs. The majority of midsoles are made from leather or rubber. Race flats and other racing shoes are made of a thin midsole as do other shoes like running ones are made of a thick midsole.

Foxing

Foxing is a band that forms the sidewall of the sole. It’s distinct from the sole and upper that secures the joint between the sole and the upper meet. It’s typically utilized on shoes to strengthen the adherence that the sole has to the upper. Foxing needs to be formed or applied to the sole, overlaid with the upper and stretched all around the shoe.

Heel of shoe

The heel of the shoe is connected to the rear of the sole. It raises the rear half of the foot, providing sufficient support. The heel is composed of two major components of the shoe. The seat of the heel is the upper part, which is designed to look like shoes. and then the bottom part is the lower piece which is affixed to the ground.

Insole

Arlin Jordin Washington said it is also referred to as the footbed or the inner sole is the part that is inside of the shoe. It sits over the midsole. It also helps support the sole of the feet. Since it’s removable, it is easy to change it. The inner sole is attached to the upper portion of the shoe. It is made from synthetic insole boards and cellulose paperboard. Specially designed inner soles can be added to help control odor, to make the shoe more comfortable, and take the shock.
