Parents are questioning why the allotment list and cut-off marks were not published on the official website.
Why was a fee of Rs. 3,000 collected in the name of counseling prior to seat allotment?
Why will only Rs. 2,900 be refunded out of the Rs. 3,000 collected from lakhs of students—what is the Rs. 100 deduction for?
Is a large-scale scam being perpetrated under the guise of seat allotment?
Is BSTC 2026 a major scam?
Kota/Banswara/Rajasthan: Suspicions of a major scam and fraud have recently arisen regarding the BSTC 2026 examination conducted by VMOU Kota in Rajasthan. It is worth noting that since 2014, BJP governments at both the central and state levels have faced serious allegations of corruption, irregularities, and paper leaks in various major competitive exams and recruitment drives. A look at these incidents reveals the following list of major scams and controversies:
1. NEET-UG and UGC-NET Paper Leak Controversies (2024-2026): Recently, the BJP-led central government and the Union Education Minister faced fierce opposition from the public and the opposition parties due to alleged irregularities and paper leaks in the country’s premier medical and professorship eligibility exams.
2. Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Exam Scam (2018): Following nationwide violent student protests against paper leaks and alleged irregularities in the SSC-CGL examination, the central government was compelled to order an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
3. Vyapam Scam (Madhya Pradesh): After 2013, the government led by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan faced allegations of large-scale manipulation, bribery, and suspicious deaths involving medical admissions and government job recruitments conducted through Vyapam (MPPEB). 4. Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) and other recruitments: In Uttar Pradesh, too, during the BJP government’s tenure, allegations of paper leaks and collusion with the ‘paper mafia’ have frequently surfaced regarding various government recruitment drives, including the 2021 UPTET paper leak.
You may be aware that regarding the Rajasthan paper leak episodes—specifically those occurring under the previous Congress government—the BJP frequently staged protests, labeling the Congress party as ‘anti-national.’ However, following the 2024 elections and the formation of the Bhajanlal Sharma government in Rajasthan, the opposition has leveled serious allegations of corruption against the BJP, citing the involvement of party-linked leaders in irregularities concerning exams like NEET.
Pre D.El.Ed. (BSTC) 2026
Amidst these various scams, an issue has emerged in Rajasthan concerning the VMOU Kota BSTC-2026 entrance exam, where the futures of lakhs of students have been jeopardized. Reports indicate that over 6 lakh students applied for the BSTC-2026 (Pre D.El.Ed.) program. Throughout the process—spanning from the online application to final admission—fees were collected at various stages of the Rajasthan Pre D.El.Ed. (BSTC) 2026 examination and counseling as follows:
Application Fee: For a single course (General or Sanskrit): Rs. 450
For both courses: Rs. 500
Counselling Registration Fee: A fee of Rs. 3,000 was charged for filling in college choices.
Admission Fee: After a seat was allotted during counseling, candidates were required to deposit Rs. 13,555 to confirm their college admission.
Pre D.El.Ed. (BSTC) 2026
In this manner, crores of rupees were collected from lakhs of underprivileged students under the guise of examination fees. Candidates who appeared for the exam and their parents stated that following the declaration of the results for the said entrance exam, the Rajasthan Pre D.El.Ed. Under the guise of counseling registration for the BSTC 2026 program, lakhs of students were charged Rs. 3,000 before final selection, with the assurance that if they were not selected, Rs. 2,900 would be refunded after 45 days (after deducting Rs. 100). In this manner, crores of rupees were effectively extorted from students who had passed their Class 12 exams, all in the name of the BSTC course.
Parents allege that colleges were secretly allotted to certain individuals under the VMOU quota for BSTC 2026 without the official website publishing any allotment lists or cut-off marks. The failure to release allotment lists and cut-off marks for BSTC 2026 in Rajasthan—including in Banswara—amounts to a deliberate act of jeopardizing the future of underprivileged students. When inquiries were made by calling the numbers listed on the official website (https://predeledraj2026.com/vcnt.php), the concerned staff flatly refused to provide any relevant information, citing instructions from higher officials not to do so.
