GENERAL

Airsoft pistol

Airsoft pistols are the types of airsoft guns designed perfectly to imitate real firearms. They can be made of plastic, die-cast metals, aluminium, or steel. They are sought after by law enforcement, training personnel, and collectors but are mainly used for hobby purposes. It is mostly used by beginners, as this family of BB is one of the cheapest models of airsoft guns. The choice is quite extensive. I will recommend to you the most famous and easy pistol to buy (Glock, Sig Sauer, Beretta, or Koch BB pistol).

Airsoft pistols are usually for secondary or backup purposes with a rifle standing as a primary purpose. Airsoft pistols are kept inside the holster when taken to the battlefield. Some airsoft pistols even have a thread rope that allows you to attach a suppressor to make them quieter or an airsoft tracer unit which lets you use glow-in-dark BBs to help you trace where BBs are going and whenever you hit your target.

Like airsoft guns, airsoft pistols can also be divided into spring, gas, and electric-powered models. The common difference between the three is that the Gas airsoft pistol is the most popular while the Electric airsoft pistol is not all that popular, although recently, due to technology and manufacturing things have begun to change. The spring airsoft pistol has the simplest structure, free of any advanced functions making it the most affordable airsoft pistol. Not to forget that it has to be reloaded at every point of shooting which reduces stress and encourages smoothness of use.

  1. Gas Airsoft pistol:

They are the most common pistol as mentioned earlier. They work by changing the gas reservoir within the pistol with pressurized gas airsoft gas and of course, there are several gases with different pressure levels. Not to forget that Gas airsoft pistols work with a particular type of Gas and if used too much can cause damage beyond repair. Within the Gas airsoft pistol, there are 3 other types of airsoft pistol;

  • Non-Blowback pistol: An NBB pistol has a fixed slide that doesn’t cycle. They have doubled-action triggers where the hammer cock back and strikes forward onto a gas valve all in one immediate motion. All the pressured gas in the gun is used for shooting the BB gun. The benefit of an NBB is that they tend to be very influential and gas efficient, with one charge lasting from 60 to over 100 shots. They can as well be very quiet making them great for when stealth is essential.
  • Gas Blowback pistol:They are the most famous type of Gas airsoft pistol. Because they offer real operations and are cheap and come in different styles. GBB operates like a real pistol with slides that move when you shoot the pistol. Most GBBs can be upgraded using the aftermath part for more power and accuracy.
  • C02 Airsoft pistol: They are very popular because C02 cartridges are easily available in many countries compared to airsoft air. C02 airsoft essentials have internal designs like a gas pistol. When the C02 is empty, you can simply replace it with a new one.

2. Spring Pistol:

As a beginner, spring-powered pistols are the best to recommend. Within the pistol is a big spring, which is compressed when you pull the slide of the back to cock the pistol This creates a small pocket of compressed air that is pushed through nozzles and onto BB, which is afterward pushed out of the barrel.

While most spring pistols are very affordable, some expensive spring pistols cost hundreds of dollars. They are designed to achieve accuracy, which is likely with accuracy fitting and limited moving parts.

3. Electric Airsoft pistol:

They can also be called Electric Blowback pistols or Automatic Electric pistols. They have motorized spring pistols, where you don’t have to cock the pistol manually for each shot but are powered by AA batteries to wind up a series of gears to compress the spring for you and shoot the BB out. All that is necessary for you to do is keep pressing the trigger.

  • AEPs are generally weaker than AEG Cousins and don’t operate as realistic as the gas pistol and generally cannot be compared in power as well as making them a less popular choice. It is advantageous over gas pistols because they are power consistent even when used in cold weather and they are less expensive to run than gas pistols.

Conclusion

Don’t get your work up thinking an airsoft pistol can kill because it is safe to use for recreational purposes and doesn’t kill. You can also decide to upgrade it when you feel like the power capacity has been reduced.

The fastest and easiest way to ensure your pistol is delivering its maximum potential is to use good-quality BBs and batteries or gas.
