From February 10 to 12, 2025, the internationally renowned fashion trade show MAGIC Las Vegas will be grandly held at the Las Vegas Convention Center. As one of the largest and most comprehensive professional fashion and retail exhibitions in the world, MAGIC Las Vegas celebrates its 92nd edition this year. With an exhibition space nearing 200,000 square meters, the event draws designers, brand representatives, buyer platforms, and media from across the globe. At this year’s show, fashion designer Xinyi Chen appeared under the Fore Collection brand and debuted her latest series, THE SOFT EDIT COLLECTION, which also served as a design interpretation of the preliminary concept of the digital fashion platform “FashionCloudAI.” This collection integrates AI trend analysis and VR virtual fitting technologies, drawing enthusiastic responses on-site. It attracted numerous international buyers and fashion media, becoming one of the event’s most prominent highlights.

THE SOFT EDIT COLLECTION

In developing THE SOFT EDIT COLLECTION, Xinyi Chen transformed several preliminary technical ideas from the FashionCloudAI platform into practical design decision-making tools, introducing data-driven and visual simulation thinking into the ready-to-wear design process.

She began by using the AI trend analysis framework envisioned for the platform to categorize and analyze popular colors, keywords, and silhouette elements from social media, fashion search engines, and image aggregation sites. From this, she built a design map centered around the core theme of “soft structures.” Using a keyword-generation model simulation, she extracted fabric recommendations and styling directions, serving as logical references for early stage design planning. During the structural development phase, Xinyi Chen adopted the platform’s proposed virtual prototyping process, leveraging existing open-source 3D modeling tools to simulate the interaction between fabrics and silhouettes. This allowed for early prediction of proportion and fabric behavior before paper patterning began. The approach not only accelerated initial design validation but also enabled the cohesive visual language of the collection to be constructed with limited resources.

The exhibition site was filled with excitement as Xinyi Chen personally explained the logic connecting design and technology. She demonstrated to industry professionals how to use AI models to understand consumer preferences, how to simulate fabric solutions virtually, and how to optimize the collection concept through data analysis. This creative approach—transforming “digital logic” into “visual storytelling”—stood out distinctly within the realm of traditional apparel showcases and attracted interest and inquiries from emerging platforms in North America and Europe.

Through her prominent presence at MAGIC Las Vegas 2025, Xinyi Chen not only showcased her ability to merge structural aesthetics with digital methodologies but also introduced a new technological and narrative dimension to Fore Collection.
