It’s been my observation that when people feel stressed and tired, taking time off can work wonders for their mental health. I think it’s important to make sure our culture supports such action because if we don’t take care of ourselves first, what happens? We might end up getting more sick than before. It also helps When leaders ask themselves, “what would help?” They should consider allowing employees some freedom in choosing how they spend these precious free weekends – whether it’s catching up on sleep or visiting family members who may be struggling too much without.
Silver Lining– Appreciate your life
The silver lining to all of this is that we were able to take time for ourselves and appreciate what’s important in life. Between work, family obligations, or being too busy – it was great seeing so many people come together over dinner with their loved ones. It brought families closer than ever during such a trying period–so make sure you treasure those moments because they won’t always be there when you need them most.
It may not seem like much at first glance, but I believe our society needs more simplicity now than ever- less stress everywhere seems achievable through small changes.
