SoAct is accomplishing what letters, phone calls, and even emails have not been able to do: make it easier for activists to find each other. The innovator of an app that is streamlining how like-minded people connect to create positive change around the globe, SoAct is helping individuals to quickly organize and to even earn money for their positive efforts. Peter Clark, the Co-Founder of SoAct, sat down with us to talk about what the app means for activists who are ready to mobilize to make a difference, no matter how small.
“SoAct is empowering individuals and nonprofits, wherever they may be, to quickly find each other and form productive communities that focus on specific issues,” Peter explains. “Whether you are passionate about ending hunger, fighting human trafficking, stopping the bleaching of coral reefs, or another important cause, SoAct will help you to find your people, so to speak. You’ll be able to engage in conversations and hear new ideas, share resources, and even host virtual/in-person events. It is the perfect place for activists to find everything – and everyone – they need to take their advocacy to the next level.”
Peter says that SoAct is designed to simplify a space that until now has felt chaotic. “The world is full of people who are committed to fighting against climate change, for example, but how do you find them easily? True, you can locate them on other platforms but not without a lot of time-intensive legwork. We created SoAct to help people avoid that laborious research and to instead have one place where they can specify their cause and immediately see who is working to make a difference, too, including organizations and nonprofits, who are able to give awards and certificates to their volunteers.”
SoAct’s designers prioritized giving organizers a way to be fairly compensated for their positive hard work. “Think about the amount of effort an organizer typically puts into mobilizing a community,” Peter says. “We’re talking hours of phone calls, social media posts, letters, and even speeches. Until now, they have often done that either for free or for very little compensation. We are changing that with SoAct.”
Users of SoAct’s app will be able to use their money and resources to support people and groups who share positive goals. Through the app’s collaboration feature, individuals and groups can more effectively engage with their followers, ultimately leading to more revenue.
“That is perhaps the best part of the SoAct app,” Peter believes. “When you are paid to organize, you can simultaneously help your community and scale up your efforts to help a cause. Having a platform that provides the potential for activists to be fairly compensated could be a gamechanger for them.”
As innovative as SoAct’s app may be, Peter acknowledges that it will never surpass the talents of its users. “We continue to be amazed by the passion and commitment of our users, who work so hard to make a difference in a world that needs them,” he says. “At SoAct, we will always give our best to support them so that society becomes more just and equitable for everyone.”
SoAct is a condensed social media platform that is centered around the user’s passions and desire to positively impact shared communities. Issues include cancer, sustainability, poverty, hunger, and more. SoAct supports its activists as they make a difference. It is not just an app – it is a movement that allows everyone to collaborate to create a better future.
