SBI PO exam
SBI stands for State Bank of India, which conducts various annual recruitments. PO stands for probationary officer post, which is one of the most admired vacancies among graduates. SBI releases vacancies for POs annually to fulfil manpower requirements among its branches. It is a national-level examination. It consists of three phases. First is the preliminary exam. There are mains and an interview round after qualifying prelims.Candidates can advance to the next stage if they pass all three stages.
Eligibility criteria
Candidates must hold a graduation degree in any stream from a recognised university or any equivalent qualification that is recognised by the central government. They should ensure that the passing certificate indicates the degree pass date.
Prospective applicants who are in the final year or semester of their graduation may also apply on a provisional basis. However, this is subject to the condition that, at the time of the interview, they’ll need to produce proof that they have passed the graduation examination.
SBI PO 2023
The recruitment notification for SBI PO 2022–23 was released on September 21, 2022. A total of 1673 vacancies were notified by the State Bank of India. The registration process for the SBI probationary officer exam started on September 22, 2022. The last date to apply for the exam and pay the exam fee was October 12, 2022. Candidates should check the eligibility criteria before applying for the examination.
Those who missed the application deadline for the years 2022-23 should apply again for the years 2023-24.
Along with objective papers, there is a descriptive paper too. First is the objective paper that asks questions based on general knowledge, reasoning, quantitative analysis, English, and computers. The second assignment is a descriptive paper worth
200 points.The total time duration for the objective paper is 3 hours and 30 minutes. Within the period, you must have the paper to submit.

SBI PO Salary
The in-hand salary that a SBI PO receives as a probationary officer comes under a good pay scale. The starting pay is 27620/-, with four increments available.Apart from this, the salary component involves other allowances, which are as follows:

Dearness Allowance
This is revised every quarter and calculated based on the CPI (Consumer Price Index). Currently, DA is 46.9% of the basic pay.
City Compensatory Allowance (CCA)
This varies with the place of posting, at 4% or 3%.
Accommodation in a rented house
SBI POs may take a house on rent, the amount of which varies with posting between a minimum of 8000/- (in rural areas) and a maximum of 29500 (in Mumbai).
Furniture Allowance
120000/- for furniture purchases
Medical Insurance
100% medical coverage for SBI employees and 75% for their family members
Travelling Allowance
For official travel, reimbursement of AC 2-tier fares is provided.
Petrol
50 litres (for two wheelers) or 55 litres (for four wheelers) or approx. 1100–1250 if you don’t have a 2/4 wheeler (conveyance allowance).
A SBI PO’s Job
The job of a bank PO is mainly to provide loans to bank customers. He does the work of checking the papers, documents, etc. required for giving the loan. After this, the loan is provided to the applicant.
In the beginning, you will have to do some clerk work, as it is really important to know the basics before we start with anything. It includes account opening, Yono registration, CIF (customer information file) amendments, linking and delinking, ATM and check book issuance, doing KYC (knowing your customer), and much more.
After that, you will work with the loan officer and observe everything, process loans in the software, arrange the documents in file, and fill in the loan registers. Close loan accounts, prepare NOCs, create collateral as directed by the loan officer, etc. Because you will only be appointed as a field or loan officer after your probation period has ended.
