The 35th SummerSlam professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) and livestreaming event was held in 2022 and was organised by WWE. Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman competed in a Last Man Standing match to defend Roman Reigns’ Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Brock Lesnar in the main event. For his entrance, Lesnar manoeuvred a tractor toward the ring.
At ringside, Lesnar rushed from the tractor into Reigns and gave him German suplexes. Reigns took advantage of Lesnar’s distraction caused by Heyman and hit him with a Samoan Drop into a table that was placed up at ringside. Lesnar stood up at seven. Lesnar was pushed through another table by Reigns, and at seven, he got up. Lesnar was subjected to two Superman Punches from Reigns and a spear before standing up.
Lesnar tried to hit Reigns with an F-5, but Reigns blocked it and tossed Lesnar outside the ring. Reigns got up at nine and was hit by Lesnar with the steel stairs and a shattered piece of a table. Reigns was thrown onto the front loader of the tractor by Lesnar, who then dropped him back into the ring. Reigns woke up at eight, and Lesnar proceeded to do German suplexes on him. Reigns got up at nine, and Lesnar then gave him an F-5.
Reigns countered into the Guillotine as Lesnar attempted another F5 on him, but Lesnar then countered into his own Guillotine on Reigns, who stood up at nine. Reigns, who had gotten up at nine, was knocked over by Lesnar when he drove the tractor into the ring and lifted the ring. The Usos—Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso—then seemed to support Reigns and launched an attack on Lesnar, who was defeated by Lesnar.
Lesnar replied by pulling an F-5 on Heyman through the announce table when Heyman continued to mock him with the championships. Lesnar was distracted when Reigns speared him. A little while later, Austin Theory out with his Money in the Bank briefcase and tried to cash in, but Lesnar stopped him with an F-5. Lesnar then received Superkicks from the Usos after waking up at nine. Lesnar came out of bed around nine, and Reigns hit him with a Spear. Lesnar, who was still standing at nine, was hit by an enraged Reigns with Theory’s Money in the Bank briefcase.
When Reigns hit Lesnar with the WWE championship, the latter stood up at nine. Reigns assaulted Lesnar in the waning seconds, using the Universal title this time. He then helped The Usos pile steel chairs, a broken announce table, and an amplifier on a bruised Lesnar while standing on the wreckage for the ten count.
