We want visible progress in justice – ATM Azam Khan

Date:

Rangpur, Bangladesh – Jamaat-e-Islami’s candidate for four constituencies in Bangladesh and Ameer of Rangpur Metropolitan City Maulana ATM Azam Khan said, “If elections are held without making fundamental reforms and justice visible, a new dictatorship will take the opportunity to steal votes. We don’t want that.” He made these comments while speaking as the chief guest at a rally organized by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami in Pirgachha Upazila of Rangpur yesterday afternoon on the occasion of the July Mass Uprising Day.
Earlier, the Upazila Jamaat took out a huge rally from Pirgachha Government College. Metropolitan Ameer ATM Azam Khan, Assistant Secretary of Rangpur District Maulana Mostaq Ahmed, District Human Resources Department President Professor Motaleb Hossain, Upazila Ameer Bazlur Rashid Mukul, Upazila Secretary Mostafizur Rahman, Upazila Jamaat leaders Abdur Jabbar, Hafez Alamgir Hossain, Maulana Abu Sufian Sujan and others were present at the time.
The rally ended with a short rally at the Jamaat office after touring various roads in the upazila.
In the speech of the chief guest, Rangpur Metropolitan Ameer ATM Azam Khan said, ‘We want visible progress in justice. There will be two proofs of that. The big murderers must be arrested immediately, judicial proceedings must be initiated against them and a verdict must be given. We want to go to the elections through justice and fundamental reforms. If the elections are held with Sheikh Hasina’s system, then a new dictatorship and new vote-rigging will take advantage of it. We don’t want that.
ATM Azam Khan, strongly criticizing the interim government for not being able to publish the list of absconding policemen, said, ‘The murderers are still roaming freely. Immediate action must be taken to arrest them. We are ashamed when there are murderers in the police. We have asked for the list. But the government could not provide that list. Why has this government not been able to provide the list even in a year? Those involved in this should also be brought under the law.’
Earlier, various parties including the Bangladesh Nationalist Party BNP and NCP organized separate rallies. More information, please contact Correspondent Md. Mafidul Islam Sarkar WhatsApp: +8801735-632338.
