Use these tips and tricks to slow or speed up your videos

Adjusting the playback speed of your video clips is a great way to keep the length of your video down while including the necessary amount of information. Moreover, you can slow down your video to show off the detail in your clips, or for an exciting slo-mo effect.

With Flixer – the online video editor – it’s super easy to speed up video online. In this article, we’ll explore how to change video speed and how to slow down video from your web browser.

Why should I adjust my video speed?

Speeding up video clips is a great way to keep your viewers’ attention. If you’re making a tutorial or how-to video, you should speed up sections where a process is loading or you’re waiting.

Furthermore, slowing clips down helps direct your viewer’s focus onto key aspects of a clip. For sports or gaming videos, slow-motion replays allow viewers to re-watch key moments in greater detail. This feature can also be used to create gaming montages or highlights from Twitch streams.

Adjusting video speed to 3x, 10x or even 20x can allow creators to make beautiful time lapses from video content.
