Akkuş calls Turkey the perfect solution for foreign investment. He points out that China’s dominance in manufacturing is over due to the economic embargo and to the massive rise in shipping costs from China closing its borders due to COVID-19.
“A container that used to ship for $2,500 now ships for $12,500,” he says, shaking his head. “Turkey is the perfect solution. Our location means we are right at the crossroads of Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and even Africa, if you think about it. Whichever direction you go, you will find an important market within only hours.”
He reveals that the Turkish people are enthusiastic about 2022. “Foreign companies are seeing the advantage of doing business here,” he says. “We have a young, college-educated workforce that is more than capable of taking Turkey to the forefront of the global economy.”
