Tourists can apply for India Visa Application Online

India Visa – Top Tips on Filling out Indian Visa Application Form

From the excitement of the streets of Mumbai to the surreal experience of visiting the Taj Mahal, get your India Visa before you go on vacation.  There are several steps you need to take, and missing even a small part of the process can cause delays.

To obtain an INDIA Visa Online, you must fill out a long, two-page application form online on the Travisa website. The Indian Consulate now outsources two different parts of the application process to the quickly established Travisa.com. The consulate will still review and approve the visa application.

Travisa handles the customer service side when submitting an application and receiving an approved visa. You do not have to pay Travisa for expedited service if you wish to apply in person or via regular mail. Visa expedited service is only required if you need your travel documents as soon as possible. Indian consulates can be very strict about their requirements.

Proof of residence

One of the tricky parts of the application is establishing proof of residency. You will see that the application asks for both permanent and current addresses. If your current address is on a valid driver’s license, use that address in both the permanent and current address fields.

On the other hand, if you have a previous address on your driver’s license, make a copy of your current utility bill with your name and address. Sometimes the Indian embassy delays processing when another address is listed. So be sure to include your utility bill along with a copy of your valid ID if you are on that boat.

Host’s contact details

List the name and contact information of the hotel you are staying at on the second page of the application where you want contact names. Unless you’re staying with someone you know.

In this case, please include complete contact information. If you leave this field blank, the Indian Consulate will not process your visa.

Choosing the right visa type

You must also choose the correct visa type and validity period. Prices vary depending on which visa you are applying for. So if you’re only traveling for a short time, you don’t want to overpay for a long-valid visa.

After submitting your information electronically, you must still print a hard copy. Please sign at the bottom of the second page and review the information on both pages.

Be very careful when stapling photos into INDIA Visa Application. If staples get into the face of the photo, chances are the Indian Embassy will request a new photo.
