This topic describes the story of three  Bedouin teenagers and their sudden invention.

What have they found?

All of them entered the cave and stumbled across a collection of large clay jars. Seven jars contain scrolls with writing on them. The teenagers then sold the small sum to a local antiquities dealer. These scrolls have historical significance and eventually unearthed tens of thousands of additional scroll fragments from 10 nearby caves of the locality. There were between 800 and 900 manuscripts. It was discovered it was the greatest archaeological discovery ever made. Most of the scrolls have a translation of the Bible and were written in ancient times.

The origin of the Dead Sea Scrolls:

The origin of the Dead Sea Scrolls was around 2000 years ago, between 150 BCE and 70 CE.  It is a scholarly debate even today, the prevailing theory. It was written by the local population when the population inhabited the area until Roman troops destroyed the settlement around 70 CE. At this time the area was known as Judea at that time, the people of that area were known as the Essenes, a devout Jewish sect. The majority of the texts on the Dead Sea Scrolls were written in Hebrew.

Old Testament of the Bible:

Most of the fragments from the Old Testament, the entire book of the Hebrew Bible preserved among the manuscripts. It is considered the earliest biblical manuscript still in existence. The manuscript also includes sectarian regulations and religious writings, which did not appear in the Old Testament. You can say it was a historical finding which was describing the religious beliefs of that time.

The writing of scrolls:

The writing on the Dead Sea Scrolls is mostly in black or occasionally in red ink. The writing was written on parchment (animal skin), or written in an early form of paper called ‘papyrus’. The scroll 3Q15 is written in copper and tin, and the manuscript and some of the Dead Sea Scrolls have interesting journeys. In 1948, a Syrian Orthodox archbishop known as Mar Samuel bought them from a shoemaker for less than $ 100. The Israeli archaeologist and statesman Yigael Yadin negotiated their purchase and brought scrolls back to Jerusalem.

Conclusion:

The Dead Sea Scrolls was one the great discoveries of all time. It assists the archeologist to understand the living style of that time along with the religious belief. You can say, the Bedouin teenagers have discovered one of the great archaeological sites.
