The black belt Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champion, Frost Murphy, wants more kids to take up this sport

Almost all kids have grown up watching action movies at some point or the other. Children today can learn Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and Jiu-Jitsu which has gained immense popularity over the years. When you want to learn the ropes, you’d want to learn from the best, and that’s where Frost Murphy comes into the picture.

Frost Murphy is a professional martial artist with specialities in both MMA as well as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He was amongst the first American’s to achieve a black belt in the latter, while having competed at the local, state, and international levels. Murphy has been honing his skills in the realm of martial arts since 1997. He started teaching full-time in 2007 at Elite MMA. Though he is an accomplished entrepreneur with ventures spread out across the real estate, oil and gas, and fitness industries, his true passion lies in martial arts. With more than 20 years of experience, Murphy has helped thousands of children and adult practitioners learn self-defense through the programs at Elite Mixed Martial Arts.

Murphy firmly believes that more people should take up the sport and wants more youngsters to embrace it. While talking about why he believes so deeply in the power of Martial Arts, he said, “I want to help as many people as I can through Martial Arts, not only does it make you stronger, it can help you transform your life.”

Taking his vision to the next level, Murphy decided to serve on the community board of KickStart Kids, a non-profit organization set up by none other than Chuck Norris to teach middle school kids about “Character Through Karate.” Murphy is lending his expertise and experience to help support the program so that he can help provide high quality martial arts to as many children as possible.

Murphy is a man of many talents. Besides professionally competing on a regular basis, growing world-class organizations across multiple industries, and avidly participating in several philanthropic endeavours, he puts his family first, taking his children to school, tucking them in bed every night and spending the weekends with his family. “Many successful people often neglect their family as their careers rise, I make a conscious effort to schedule my family first, so the majority of my quality time is spent with them,” said Murphy.

Whether it’s his own children or his students, Murphy firmly believes that achieving balance is the true secret to happiness, and it is precisely this learning that he wishes to share with them through the medium of martial arts. “We like to help our students at Elite MMA achieve success in all areas of their life- Spiritual, family, friends, mental, physical, financial,  and educational. If you neglect one area you are setting your self up for failure later down the road.” Frost Murphy is indeed a master, both inside and outside the ring, and the students at Elite Mixed Martial Arts children couldn’t possibly ask for better values to be lying underneath the quality programs that he and his team run at Elite MMA.
