“During grad school, I took the opportunity to delve into research, and began assisting one of my professors,” she shares. “This was a formative period. I published an article and was able to successfully defend my thesis. I was busy cultivating a deep understanding of complex technical subjects, and learning how to communicate them effectively.”
Sushma’s time as a research assistant accelerated her academic growth; and it also honed her skills in peer reviewing. This gave her the capability to critically evaluate and contribute to advancements in her field. This experience was a precursor to what would be an illustrious career.
Sushma’s portfolio includes certifications in PMP, ITIL, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, AWS Solutions Architect Associate, and Product Management Excellence. These accomplishments are reflections of her deep engagement with various aspects of technology and management. As the holder of three innovative patents, she has contributed tangible innovations to the field, cementing her status as a thought leader and inventor in the payments domain.
Sushma has also demonstrated a keen eye for talent – she is involved with the hiring of some of the world’s brightest engineers, associates, and contractors. “I believe that we should never stop learning,” Sushma shares. “Education and personal development should be ongoing. I’m excited about disrupting the payment processing industry with new product advancements in payments and I’m seeking to broaden my role within the technological industry.”
Sushma has an upcoming paper being published on the impact of generative AI-powered payment analysis tools; as with all her projects, this research piece is indicative of her ongoing pursuit of knowledge and her desire to drive the conversation in her field forward.
“Success isn’t just about getting to a specific goal,” Sushma reflects. “It’s more like a path of learning, being tough when things get hard, and being open to change. Real success in tech comes from your skill to learn from mistakes, accept and work with changes, and always keep making progress.”
