Norton offers a yearly subscription where the user can access its tools for a year reliably. When the Norton program expires, you can renew it and access the tools again. Instead of renewing Norton manually, the user can enable the auto-renewal service. After enabling this service, your Norton program won’t expire.
It will get renewed automatically. Norton auto-renewal won’t stop until the user cancels it. When you are not accessing the Norton program then disable the auto-renewal.
Disabling Norton antivirus auto-renewal service
For upgrading the Norton plan; cancel auto-renewal on running setup. Upgrade the setup after the expiry of the previous Norton setup. The user can easily access the Norton antivirus account on any device using the credentials. Open Norton on the browser and make the changes.
- On the browser, open the Norton website
- Click on My Account
- Select Account Information option
- Sign-in page will appear
- Login to Norton setup
- Click on My Profile
- Open the subscription page
- User will see all his Norton plans
- Select the current plan
- Go to Auto-renewal and disable it
The user will get the confirmation message on the desktop. Select the Yes button and return to the subscription page to check the expiry date next to the plan. Now close the Norton website and run a scan with your antivirus. You can run all paid features until the given date. After the subscription expiry, you can easily upgrade the antivirus.
The user can also upgrade the plan after cancelling the subscription; he doesn’t have to wait till expiry. But the remaining days on the previous Norton subscription won’t add to the upgraded plan. So upgrading the plan after the subscription is a better option.
Can you cancel a Norton subscription after auto-renewal?
When the user forgets about auto-renewal mode; it will renew automatically. But if you don’t need the Norton program then check for the refund service. Many of the Norton plans provide refunds on auto-renewal. But the user must apply for a refund within 15 days on license auto-renewal. You can cancel the Norton subscription and apply for a refund from the account directly.
- Open Norton website on the browser
- Go to My Account and hit on Account Details
- Log in to the Norton account
- Open Norton’s subscription window
- Select the Norton auto-renewed plan
- Tap on the Cancel button
- Refund wizard will be displayed
- Choose Refund and provide the details
Hit on the Confirm button and return to Norton’s subscription page. The status next to your Norton plan will get changed. It will show Expiry status and now the user can’t access any tools. Check the mail for the refund details.
Cancelling Norton antivirus subscription on Android device
Norton antivirus apps are also available for Android OS. You can get the applications for Norton on the Play Store. It will show the Norton apps compatible with the system. You can get the app and then purchase its subscription. If the Norton plan is in auto-renewal; you should cancel the subscription.
- Open your phone and go to Play Store
- Select the Profile icon
- Tap on the Payments and Subscriptions option
- Choose Subscriptions and check for Norton
- Go to Norton and click on the Cancel button
- You will see Confirm button
Select the Confirm option and now the auto-renewal will be disabled. Again, go to Subscription and open Norton. You can check the expiry date of your app’s subscription. After the expiry; it will not renew.
Renewing Norton antivirus plan manually
Norton antivirus will expire after the provided date. But when you need the Norton plan; you can renew it manually. In case you want to prevent subscription expiry; renew Norton before the date. Your days of the previous plan will be added to the new Norton renewal plan. After renewing your Norton; don’t forget to check the auto-renewal mode.
If it gets enabled then go to subscription windows and disable it again. For a multi-licensed Norton plan, you can make the changes on subscription only from the primary account.
