New World has released a wealth of new data about player activity across different game modes. The Steam Charts show the peak players, but not much detail. Now, thanks to the leaderboards, we can have a much better understanding of the number of players across different activities.

Lazarus mutation
The data shows that at the peak of the Lazarus mutation, 15,373 groups had cleared a Lazarus M10 with Gold, with nearly 18,000 unique players. When looking at the maximum score rating, there were 23,252 groups with 20,016 unique players. This indicates that many players were running multiple runs, as a single run is not enough to achieve the maximum score rating.
Outpost Rush
For Outpost Rush, the leaderboards showed that there were 26,771 unique players. Wars had 12,000 players, similar to the 12,300 who were playing Arena. Interestingly, Outpost Rush was much more popular than Arena.
SMITE
Player numbers in SMITE can be a tricky thing to measure. Although there is an official Steam player count of 43 000, the actual number of active players could be much higher. By taking a look at the data gathered by xr, we can get a better understanding of how many players are actually playing the game.
New World
We can also see that around 35 000 players have done either an outpost rush New Wold Coins, but not both. There’s a higher overlap of 8 600 players between those who have done an outpost rush and participated in a war. The number of players who have done both an arena and an outpost rush is even higher. Around 4 500 players have participated in a war and also completed mutations.
It’s interesting to note that, on the server Delos, 472 players participated in the seven wars, meaning there were 228 duplicates – those who participated in more than one war. This suggests there’s a good mix of different players taking part in wars.
Overall, these numbers provide us with a good indication of the actual number of active players in the game. We’ll have to wait and see how the player counts develop when future patches and updates are released.
