Spotlight On The Samsung Galaxy S22, S22+, & S22 Ultra

Date:

In February of this year, Samsung unveiled their latest triplet flagship Galaxy S lineup. The lineup features three devices: the Samsung S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra. Each of the Galaxy S22 trio comes in a range of different storage options, meaning there is a healthy array of different price points for buyers to choose from. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is also available with an option of either 8GB or 12GB of RAM, with the latter offering better speeds, especially when using the Galaxy S22 Ultra as a substitute for your computer in Samsung’s signature DeX mode

The Galaxy S22 range is the most advanced non-foldable range in the Samsung lineup and comes with an exciting array of improvements. Not only has the phone’s display been improved significantly when compared to the S21 and S21FE, but camera specs have also been leveled up like you won’t believe, with these devices featuring more telephoto capabilities than most of their competitors. After a substandard year last year in terms of flagship sales, Samsung have a lot riding on this year’s S22 series and feedback so far has been overwhelmingly positive from both consumers and the tech media.

Let’s take a closer look at each of the devices in Samsung’s new Galaxy S22 lineup.

Samsung Galaxy S22

Delivering the flagship specs that you would expect from Samsung, the Galaxy S22 certainly does not disappoint. This is a high-end smartphone that any tech fan will be more than happy to use on a daily basis. Featuring the brand new Snapdragon Gen 1 processor, a bright 120Hz adaptive display and a triple camera array complete with advanced telephoto capabilities, this device is loaded with incredible features. Samsung’s Galaxy S22 is quickly earning a reputation as one of the top smartphones on the market today, providing users with a powerful device and an excellent user experience.

Samsung Galaxy S22+

The middle-child in the current lineup, the Samsung Galaxy S22+ is not as compact as the S22,but it doesn’t have the S Pen like the S22 Ultra. For some users, the S22 could slip between the cracks, landing in no man’s land and not fitting any particular purpose. However, nothing could be further from the truth.

From our perspective, the Galaxy S22+ offers a superior blend of value, portability and performance when compared to the other devices of Samsung’s Galaxy S22 series. It’s arguably the most well-rounded of the three smartphones in the range, offering the perfect balance of battery life, size and power in relation to its price point. For anyone on an S20 or earlier who feel that they may not benefit from S Pen functionality, the S22+ is a well worthwhile upgrade, offering serious improvements in performance and usability.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

To the dismay of Samsung Note fans, earlier this year the company announced that they would no longer be continuing with the Note lineup. While many people were disappointed to hear this news, all is not lost. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is essentially the latest note, just under a different name. The S22 Ultra’s embedded S Pen has been greatly enhanced since the last Samsung Galaxy Note, offering 70% reduced latency compared with the S Pen of the Note 20.

The display is also being called three times more responsive than the Note 20 too, with Samsung using AI-based point-prediction software on the S22 Ultra to improve responsiveness and to help predict where you are going to draw next.

In addition to the exciting addition of the embedded S Pen, the S22 Ultra is also a powerhouse of hardware, featuring a Snapdragon 88 Gen 1 chip, a choice of eight or twelve GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.

The photography capabilities of this flagship have also been greatly improved, with the S22 Ultra being equipped with a 12MP ultra-wide camera, 108MP main camera, 10MP 3x zoom and a 10MP 10x zoom on the back. There’s also a whopping 40MP front-facing camera! Alongside this, the S22 Ultra can also capture up to 8K video through its rear cameras, and up to 4K video through its front camera. Samsung has also improved the low-light imaging capabilities for better results in low light conditions.

Choose The Right Samsung Galaxy S22 For Your Needs

With such a great range of devices to choose from, the biggest issue that many consumers will have is choosing which of the Samsung Galaxy S22 lineup to go for. Your budget as well as your user needs will likely play a big role in your decision-making process.

For those looking for an experience similar to the Note lineup, the Ultra will be the perfect solution. On the other hand, if you are looking for a more compact or budget solution, the S22 may be a better option. However, for most users, the Samsung Galaxy S22+ is likely to provide the best value for money and the best balance of performance, portability, and power. Be sure to take the time to consider your needs, so you choose the right smartphone from the new and exciting Samsung Galaxy S22 range.
