Marketing firm ChoiceLocal and CEO Joe Soltis paired with international aid organization Habitat for Humanity to build a home for a family in need in Cleveland. As part of their commitment to running a purpose-driven company, they helped fund Habitat’s work by financially being the sole sponsor of the home and the purpose-driven ChoiceLocal team spent many hours and invested a lot of sweat-equity into the Hulda Avenue home, which was dedicated on May 14th.
Nine months ago, the project broke ground when the franchise marketing staff met at the address to begin work on the foundation, do the traditional Habitat for Humanity house blessing, and strategize a summer full of volunteer opportunities.
They did not know who would end up living in the home that their team built, but they knew it would be a special way to serve a family who really needed it and give back to the community while also bringing the team closer together.
“The ceremony was on a Saturday morning, and it was a fun and moving time for our team. We got to see all of the hard work pay off, admire the finished home, and celebrate with the family as we dedicated their new house to them,” Soltis said.
In addition to the dedication, there was a professional documentary team on site, so the newly housed family, the ChoiceLocal staff, and the Habitat for Humanity team could remember the joyful occasion.
