We’ve done some research and put together a guide that will help you navigate Philadelphia International Airport with ease. Read on to learn how to find the best parking spots.
Parking Companies
You may want to skip the hassle of airport parking altogether and opt for an off site parking option. Over the last several years, parking companies have popped up to help travelers find the best way to park their vehicles while they’re away. One such company is On Air Parking. On Air Parking partners with four and five-star parking companies near airports to provide you with some of the cheapest airport parking around PHL. The process is simple: you’ll park your vehicle at a secure, off-site facility and take a shuttle over to the airport. When you return, the shuttle will be available to return you to your car.
Other private parking companies in the area include WallyPark, The Parking Spot, Park n Fly and Jet Stream Parking. These companies are privately owned and operated and are not affiliated with the airport. Take note of access availability and hours of operation. It’s best to reserve your parking spot in advance as these lots tend to fill up quickly, especially during busy travel seasons.
Cell Phone Waiting Lot
The best place to park if you’re waiting for a passenger to arrive is the airport’s Cell Phone Waiting Lot. This lot is located on airport property. The lot has 150 parking spaces that are available on a first come, first served basis. The lot is a short drive to the baggage claim areas. Please note that wait time is limited to 60 minutes and drivers must remain in their vehicles at all times. Drivers who leave their vehicle parking in the Cell Phone Waiting Lot are subject to towing and/or fines. Owners will be responsible for paying any applicable fees.
Economy Parking
Philadelphia International Airport offers a few different options if you prefer to keep your vehicle on airport property while you’re on your trip. Economy parking is the best option for those who are planning to leave their vehicle for longer than a day. This lot is priced at a flat fee of $15 per day, which includes all taxes and fees. The Economy parking lot offers a complimentary shuttle
to take you to and from the terminals. Shuttles operate 24/7 every day of the year, including holidays.
While reservations are not required, keep in mind that the spaces available in this lot are on a first come, first served basis. It’s best to book in advance or arrive with plenty of time before your flight to secure a parking space. Also note that oversized vehicles such as buses, semis and trailers are not permitted in the Economy parking lot.
If you have a problem while your vehicle is parked here, you can contact the Philadelphia Parking Authority for assistance. They are happy to help out with locating your vehicle, jump starting your battery or changing a flat tire. The lot is secure and is regularly patrolled by the Philadelphia Police Department.
Short-Term Parking
If you’re only planning to leave your vehicle parked at the airport for a short time, Short-Term parking is probably the best option for you. The Short-Term parking lot is located on the ground level and fees start at $5 for the first half an hour. Leaving your car parked here for 24 hours will cost you around $48 so it’s best to use this option if you only plan to be at the airport for a few hours.
Note that the height restrictions for vehicles using the Short-Term parking area is 6’2”. Oversized vehicles that are equipped for wheelchairs and are unable to enter the parking garages due to height restrictions are able to take advantage of the less expensive rates in Garages C, D, E or F and Short-Term ground level for visits that are less than 24 hours.
Garage Parking
If you want to make sure your vehicle stays covered and is protected from the elements, Philadelphia International Airport also offers Garage parking. The Garage parking is located on the upper levels of the parking deck. The cost for this parking area is the same as the Short-Term parking, with the exception being that 24 hours will cost $28.
Bicycle Access and Parking
If you’re familiar with the Philadelphia area, you know that the airport is located just a short distance from Center City. As a result, many choose to make bicycles their primary mode of transportation. The 10 mile bike ride is the perfect way to stretch your legs and get your blood pumping before hopping on a flight. Conveniently, Philadelphia airport offers bicycle parking. There are bicycle racks spread throughout the airport complex. Note that bicycles may not be ridden inside the Terminal buildings. Bicycle racks for passengers can be found at the following locations:

● Terminal B-C, near the Marriott Hotel
● Terminals D-E, on the Commercial Vehicles Road just next to the SEPTA Regional Rail Airport Terminal C-D Station
Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
If you have an Electric Vehicle, a charging station is obviously the best parking spot for you. Philadelphia International Airport features 7 charging stations that have the ability to charge up to 14 vehicles at a time. There are 2 charging stations on Level 1 of Garage C, 2 stations on Level 1 of Garage D, and 3 stations in the Economy Lot located right next to the airport toll plaza.
Special Deals and Promotions
At times, there are special parking promotions offered for airport parking. The AAdvantage® Aviator® Mastercard® Parking promotion allowed cardholders to take advantage of exclusive parking discounts. The rates for the designated parking area were approximately 20% cheaper than standard rates. While this promotion ended on September 7,2022, keep your eyes and ears open for future promotions. Don’t be afraid to do a quick Google search for parking coupons and discount codes. Booking your parking in advance will also save you some money.
