According to the most recent development, travelers must choose alternate flights on other airlines if they wish to fly the Accra-London-Accra route on Mondays and Thursdays.

Transit visas are furthermore required for passengers flying with KLM, a Dutch carrier. 

A related development is that the Netherlands Embassy in Ghana is allegedly contemplating implementing a quota system for the quantity of visas that its employees are allowed to issue. 

When put into effect, it may make it challenging for travelers taking KLM from Schiphol to London to get at their destination on time. 

KLM is not the only airline in this scenario; Air France and Brussels Airlines are also asking for transit permits. 

All of these stringent changes are intended to implement the Brexit regulation. 

Travelers may, however, take a flight on Kenyan Airways or Ethiopian Airlines to experience the London transit route.

“To give maximum flexibility, we’re providing customers the choice to switch flights and, where appropriate, using bigger aircraft, allowing more passengers to fly as close to their original departure time as possible,” the statement reads. 

Customers may be required to follow up directly with their travel agent for specific flights. Customers who decide against travelling may get a full refund in accordance with our Standard Consumer Rules, the message promised. 

According to the statement, numerous agreements with other carriers are also in place to assist customers who need to rebook. 

These are already in place with Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, Singapore Airlines City line, Qatar Airways, and Lufthansa, it was said.
