I admire people who put forth a lot of effort. How did you become an artist/painter?
Sylvia Rossouw: Thank you for your kind words. I became an artist at a young age. It has always been a means to connect with that which I experience beyond myself and the physical world.
Almost every industry was affected by the pandemic. How did you manage to keep going through it all? What’s your motivation?
Sylvia Rossouw: The pandemic literally knocked me down. on an emotional level.I felt severely trapped. The message that came through, loudly and clearly, was that I need to reconfigure my entire life under one roof, which I did at the first opportunity, October2020.
What do you consider your most significant accomplishment this year?
Sylvia Rossouw: The year isn’t over yet. I think the SHOW STOPPING accomplishment of the year is still coming. I can’t wait to see the response to the video collaboration project that I did with Counterstrika. I am ecstatic about. It will be on show 16 December 2021 at M.A.D.S. Gallery. (Smile.)
Talk about your favorite painting experience. What made this specific time so perfect?
Sylvia Rossouw: I think the painting experience the last year, has been incredible. For once I had enough space to work on various project simultaneously. Being located in a rural area, surrounded by mountains and nature, made it extra special.
What can fans expect to see from your latest works? Where can we find you latest art projects?
Sylvia Rossouw: I think my fans know they can always expect the unexpected from me. My treat to them for the year, is definitely the video collaboration with Counterstrica. The end product took my breath away. I have never seen and heard anything like it before.
We will show it at the international exhibition, Sacrifice”, which is opening 16 December 2021, at M.A.D.S. Gallery, Milan and Fuerteventura and drop it on various platforms on the same day.
