She spent her early years in Vietnam before moving to the United States with her parents and younger brother when she was seven. Due to her tumultuous home life, she ran away from home at the age of 16, and while she later returned to finish her high school education at Portland’s John Marshall Night School, she went on to attend Linn-Benton Community College and then Oregon State University. Despite all the struggles and hardships, she stayed firm in her belief and became a successful entrepreneur eventually.
