About Jesko von Koenigsegg
Koenigsegg Automotive founded by Jesko von Koenigsegg’s son Christian von Koenigsegg in 1994 in Sweden. Jesko von Koenigsegg was very fond of horses and horse racing. He nurtured his passion for horses for almost his entire career spanning over 40 years, first as a volunteer with the sport and then for almost 20 years as an amateur Jockey. Seeing his son’s passion towards engineering, Jesko von Koenigsegg encouraged his son first to dream about making a high-performance sports car like no other. Jesko used to take his son Christian to the Geneva Motor Show every year without fail. Jesko instilled the love of engineering in Christian by helping him understand the importance of practical engineering. He encouraged his son to repair and tune basic machines like the engine of their boats and even mopeds! When Christian von Koenigsegg was just 22, he decided to start his own company to design high-performance sports cars. He financed his dream through his own savings and from grants received from the Swedish Technical Development Board. But the lion’s share given by Jesko von Koenigsegg which helped Christian realise his dream. At Christian’s request, he even decided to join the company in its initial days. But the agreed period of six weeks soon turned to over six years and Jesko von Koenigsegg became the first Chairman of the Board. While son and founder Christian got engrossed in the design and engineering aspects of the car, Jesko von Koenigsegg formulated the company’s policies and procedures on to bedrock of Koenigsegg Automotive. Today, he no longer actively involved in running the day-to-day operations of the company but acts as an advisor to Christian and the company.

Koenigsegg Jesko the latest limited edition high-performance sports car introduced by Koenigsegg Automotive. It is the replacement for the highly successful model, Agera. The Koenigsegg Jesko introduced at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show and sold out completely by the end of the show which lasted for ten days!
The Koenigsegg Jesko powered by a 5-Litre V8 twin-turbo petrol engine which produces a power output of 955 KW at 7800 rpm. It has a steering-mounted 9-speed transmission system which managed by a powerful onboard computer. The Koenigsegg Jesko uses a combination of aluminium and carbon fibre body for rigidity and stability.
The company has plans to produce only 125 pieces of the Koenigsegg Jesko which already sold out. With an annual production target of 40-45 cars, the target would achieved in 3 years. The car costs about USD 3 million each!
While the Koenigsegg Jesko an engineering & design marvel, Christina’s father Jesko von Koenigsegg kept in the dark about the car’s name till the last moment! While the car developed, Jesko von Koenigsegg quite eager and equally nervous to know the details, but Christian and his team decided to hide the car’s real name from him. They even created some fake press releases to placate Jesko von Koenigsegg. Finally, when 80-year-old Jesko asked to unveil the car at the Geneva Motor Show he got to know that his son had given the latest car his name!
