Kira G. likes Pokemon, animals, and Squishmallows like any teen girl. She is also worried about getting into the college of her choice, getting her driver’s license, and being able to get tickets to her favorite bands’ concerts like many teens.
But unlike most teens, Kira G. has already written and published over 14 books, become a USA Today Bestselling author, became an award-winning filmmaker, and just recently launched her own candy and snacks brand, called Kira G. Candies, featuring freeze-dried candies and snacks inspired by her book series Red Genesis, Last Lodge on Earth, and the Amazon Lee Adventures Series co-written by million-selling author Kailin Gow.
She has also accomplished some of this while celebrating significant milestones with family at sea. “It’s important to create lifetime memories with family, especially with grandparents, while we can,” Kira G. said. “Because I attend a school, Fusion Academy, that allows me to attend my high school classes online and remotely, I am able to go to school, write my books, work on Kira G. Candies, and be with family for celebrating these special occasions. My teachers Laurence S., Jorge S., Carolyn L., and Monika T. are so understanding and wonderful. I’ve learned a lot from them as well. I’ve learned a lot from my teachers at Fusion and was even inspired by my English project assigned by my teacher Jeriese D., which became the beginning of The Red Genesis Series.”
Kira G. and her co-author Kailin Gow wrote and finished the third and final book of The Red Genesis Series, called Dark Matter, while on the cruise line Holland America where she recently celebrated her 18th birthday.
“It’s pretty significant because the spaceship in Red Genesis,” says Kailin Gow, “is inspired by cruise ships and its floating city concept.”
