Training and Requirements

An IT engineer should have considerable in-depth experience working with large-scale IT software, hardware, and computer systems.

Most employers will require that their IT engineer candidates have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or a related field. Some companies will accept certification, such as a CSDP, or Certified Software Development Professional, instead of a college degree.

Of course, you will also need to have a plethora of knowledge about computer hardware systems, wireless networks, networking systems, databases, and LAN. You’ll also need to be familiar with OS systems, Office software, Enterprise, and more.

You will also need the ability to adapt to a high-paced and evolving environment and be willing to accept the challenges that come along with an IT engineering job.
