Hello everyone! With the full release of WoW Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary Phase 1, everyone is either grinding in the Arena or leveling up alts, both requiring a lot of gold. Almost everyone is struggling to earn enough.

Today, IGGM will introduce a less common way to farm gold–fishing. Compared to farming dungeons or participating in raids, it is clearly not nearly as crowded here!

IGGM will explain in detail the necessary conditions for fishing in the Outland, the best fishing spots, a comparison of profits, and the final conclusion: is fishing worth the time? Don’t miss it!

Prerequisites for Fishing

To unlock fishing in the Outland and earn gold, your fishing level must reach 300. Players below this level must complete quests and fish to increase their fishing level.

Once your fishing skill reaches 300, you can fish in the Outland and raise your skill level to 375.

This guide focuses on maximizing your WoW TBC Anniversary gold farming by catching as many fishes as possible. Even at level 375, you’ll need a fishing rod and fishing lures for efficient fishing.

Recommended Equipment:

  • Level 375 Fishing Skill
  • Graphite Fishing Pole (+20 Fishing)
  • 100 Fishing Lures

Obtaining a fishing rod is very simple: Upon first arriving in Shattrath City, accept the quest Rather Be Fishin’ from the NPC. Simply kill the Eels outside the city to complete the quest, and you’ll receive a Seth’s Graphite Fishing Pole.

The 100 Fishing lures primarily come from daily fishing quests. These are essential daily activities, providing a stable income and a consistent supply of Fishing lures.

There are five daily fishing quests in Outland, which refresh randomly each day and are all easy to complete. Upon completion, you’ll receive a fixed reward of 7-8 gold, 100 Fishing lures, and a chance to obtain recipes, pets, +15 Stamina Gems, +5 Fishing Skills, and more. Later stages offer the opportunity to obtain the extremely rare and collectible ring.

Recommended Fishing Areas

Outland has 7 maps. Hellfire Peninsula, Shadowmoon Valley, Blade’s Edge Mountains, and Netherstorm are completely not worth your time. Even when leveling up your fishing skill, it’s advisable to avoid these areas as they have almost no fishable waters, and the fish there are of poor quality and variety.

The first three areas only have green slime rivers and lakes with no high-quality fish. While Netherstorm has a normal lake, the monsters are extremely dense and spawn frequently, interfering with your fishing. Only go there when you need to do daily quests.

Only Zangarmarsh, Nagrand, and Terokkar Forest are worth focusing on for fishing.

Zangarmarsh

This area is highly recommended as it has the lowest entry barrier. You can start fishing once you reach level 300 and have a Fishing rod and Fishing lures. The core objective is to target the Steam Pump Flotsam and fish along the four lakes on the map. Steam Pump Flotsam yields significantly higher profits than regular fishing.

This area has a large player base, and in PvP servers, you might encounter opposing factions, requiring you to switch planes to find less populated areas. However, the competition is manageable, the profits are stable, and the entry barrier is low, making it the most reliable fishing and gold-farming area in Outland.

  • Pure fishing profit: 170-180 gold/hour
  • Profit after cooking/processing: Over 190 gold/hour

Nagrand

This area mainly has two types of fish: Icefin Bluefish and Mudfish, and the fish are plentiful. However, there is only a very low probability of finding Pure Water pools.

During peak server hours, there are many players and frequent PvP conflicts. Actual profits are lower, making it suitable only for off-peak hours.

  • Pure fishing yield: 100 gold/hour
  • Cooking and processing yield: 105-110 gold/hour

Terokkar Forest

The core objective is the Highland Mixed School, which can only be found in lakes inaccessible by land and requiring flight. Therefore, a flying mount is necessary to reach it.

This area theoretically has an extremely high yield ceiling, but the area is small and competition is fierce, making it only suitable for extremely low-peak times such as early morning.

  • Pure fishing yield: 300 gold/hour (ideal situation)
  • Cooking and processing yield: 90-100 gold/hour

Final Conclusion

Zangarmarsh is currently the most profitable area for farming TBC Anniversary gold through fishing, consistently yielding 180+ gold/hour. It has low competition and a low barrier to entry, making it suitable for casual players who don’t want to compete in competitive areas.

Nagrand and Terokkar Forest have lower yields and are highly competitive, only suitable for specific periods.

Of course, if you find fishing time-consuming and boring, and the rewards don’t meet your expectations, you can directly buy WoW TBC Classic Anniversary gold from IGGM to save the long fishing time and quickly meet your needs for equipment, mounts, and alt character development.

In any case, fishing is one of the most suitable ways for casual players to earn gold. Get your fishing rod and bait ready, and embark on your fishing journey right now!
