How to make a request for a refund on McAfee?
McAfee antivirus is a security program and offers premium and free tools. The user can access the tools of McAfee as required. On a free plan, you will receive the update for the basic tools. When you are using the premium McAfee program, you can access various advanced tools and get regular updates.
But the plan requires yearly renewal. When the McAfee plan expires, the user has to renew the program. For the renewal, the user can use the manual method or go for auto-renewal. But once you enable the auto-renewal, the plan will renew every time whether you are using it or not. If you are not using the McAfee program then cancel the McAfee subscription. In case, the McAfee plan is renewed then request for a refund.
Requesting for a McAfee auto-renewal refund
When you have removed the McAfee setup but the plan gets auto-renewed then cancel it. Cancel the subscription; get a refund. But you have to look at the refund policy of your McAfee plan as the refund services may vary with plans. When the plan is under a refund policy; you should cancel it immediately. When you don’t have the McAfee setup installed on the device, open your account directly on the McAfee website.
- Open the McAfee website
- Tap on Login
- The user has to enter McAfee account credentials
- Go to your McAfee profile
- Click on Subscription
- You will see your McAfee auto-renewed plan
- Tap on the plan and hit on Cancel button
- You will get the refund McAfee feature
- Click on the refund option and tap on Confirm
When you confirm the refund option, the McAfee auto-renews will expire. Check the email regarding the McAfee refund.
Cancelling McAfee subscription to prevent auto-renewal
If you are planning to use another security program, cancel the McAfee subscription immediately. Even when you cancel the subscription, you can use the services till the expiry date. Cancelling the subscription prevents auto-renewal.

- Go to the Subscription tab
- You will see all subscription details
- Tap on the Cancel button
Click on Confirm and the subscription tab will get changed. Now the subscription page will show the McAfee license expiry date. The user can access the premium McAfee antivirus tools till the date on the subscription page. When the license for McAfee antivirus expires, the program will not be renewed automatically. Now the user can install another McAfee setup on the device. But before installing a new program, the user must remove the existing setup from the device.
Requesting for McAfee refund on Android device
McAfee paid tools are also for Android phones. The plan provides advanced tools for phone security. Unlike Windows, you can’t get the setup from the McAfee website. The user has to install or purchase a McAfee subscription from the device’s Play Store. When your McAfee setup is auto-renewed on an Android device; you can request a refund from the Play Store.
- Open phone and go to Play Store
- Tap on the Profile
- Click on Payments and Subscriptions
- Select Subscriptions
- Choose McAfee antivirus
- Select Cancel button
- McAfee Refund wizard will appear
Select Confirm refund option. Open the email and check for McAfee refund mail. Now go to the McAfee antivirus and click on Account. Your McAfee will show Expired status and now no premium McAfee tool will work. Now the user can remove McAfee setup and install another security program on the Android device.
Requesting Refund on iOS device
iOS devices provide good security but for the internet threat, you can use the McAfee program. When the user has a McAfee plan which gets auto-renewed; you can cancel it from the App Store. If the McAfee plan is under refund, you can apply for a refund using the App Store.
- Open iOS phone and click on App Store
- Click on Profile
- Select Subscription button
- Now choose your McAfee antivirus
- Click on Cancel and choose Refund
After applying for a refund, the subscription will show expired status. Refund details will appear in the mail. Now remove the expired McAfee setup from the iOS device. The user will get his McAfee refund in a few days of cancelling the subscription.
