Bangkok hotels are plentiful, and the best way to find one that’s right for you is by reading this article. Cheap Bangkok Hotels can be found just about everywhere in the city, but if you’re looking to stay at Kaosan road then there are certain things to consider. If you’re not a backpacker and want good shopping near your hotel, then stay close to the skytrain. If you like atmosphere and don’t care much about getting around town, then choose a hotel along Chao Phraya river – it’ll be worth it!
If you’re looking for a Bangkok hotel, you have a lot of alternatives. If you’re a backpacker, stay at Kaosan Road. If you aren’t one, stay near to the skytrain if you enjoy shopping. Stay near the Chao Phraya river if you want good ambience and don’t mind not getting around town.
If you want to go shopping and want to be in the city center, (and I can tell you that Bangkok is a shoppers’ paradise – Hong Kong isn’t cheap… but Bangkok is) I recommend Patumwan Princess hotel Bangkok. It’s located within the MBK shopping mall (where fake jeans, timepieces, and clutches are sold by the dozens – so cheap!) and it’s only a few steps away from some of Bangkok’s best restaurants. Hotel rates are very affordable, starting at about $60 USD/day for an executive suite with internet access included.
The Grand Hyatt Erawan hotel in Bangkok, Le Meridien hotel, and the Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok are all more opulent. They’re located just across the street from Zen and Isetan shopping malls. The Siam Square (where to buy unusual clothing) and Chidlom (shopping center) skytrain stations are a block away.
The view from the top of either building is breathtaking – you can see everything that Bangkok has to offer while enjoying a cup of coffee in one hand and a cocktail in the other! If I had to choose between these three hotels, though, I would say Le Meridien’s prices are very affordable (cheaper than Hyatt Erawan) and it’s in a fantastic location.
The Asia hotel Bangkok is popular with tourists, who like to stay near the Rajdevi skytrain station (one stop from MBK shopping center). It may be inexpensive, but it’s rather old. Well, actually quite ancient. I don’t suggest it. But it’s entirely your choice.
If you don’t want to go shopping in Bangkok, I strongly advise you to stay at the Sukothai hotel. It’s a sophisticated Thai-style hotel with a luxury vibe, but you’ll have to take a taxi anywhere if that’s what you want. Alternatively, if you can stand being by the Chao Phraya river, then do that! The Oriental hotel Bangkok has a nice view of the water and lots of shops along the riverfront. Either way, I recommend you stay close to where we found Cheap Hotels in Bangkok , which is near Patumwan Princess if you want to go shopping and within reach from there so that it’s easy for you to get around by skytrain.
However, it’s pricey, especially if you want to stay at the world-renowned Oriental or Peninsula Hotels in Bangkok. If these two are beyond your budget, try out the Shangri-La Hotel in Bangkok. It may be a little less expensive. Also, reserve a dinner on the Chao Praya River while staying in Bangkok.

Let’s start by considering what type of room you want for your next stay. Do you plan on spending most of your time outside? If so, then it might make sense for you to book an executive suite or deluxe suite that has more space and amenities than a standard room would have. You could also consider booking a family suite if there are two adults and children staying together because they come with separate sleeping areas as well as extra living/dining spaces.
Finally, someone who plans on being out all day may be happy enough just getting a king bedroom since their accommodation will not need much attention from them once they get back to the room at night.
