That being said, the majority comes from the shoes. One way to prevent these from getting into your home is by providing a different set of sandals for when you’re inside your house. This way, you leave the dirt and other debris on the shoes that you used just by the front of your home. Keeping the floor free from things such as mud, animal poop, and the like.
Sweep, Vacuum, Mop
Of course, the best way to clean your floors is to simply sweep the dirt away. Most tiles are quoted with a layer of epoxy that makes it texture smooth enough so that dirt won’t naturally stick to it. One motion with a broom would likely remove all dirt from the floor.
For more severe problems, or just places that you can’t reach, a vacuum cleaner would suffice. This would suck up all of the dirt and debris that it can find, and depending on the add-on, it can reach places that your broom won’t!
Vacuum cleaners are the better options because they lessen the hassle of cleaning the floor. The only problem is that most of these are very noisy in nature.
Sweeping and vacuuming your floor, it would be time to give it a fresh sparkly feel—and that’s when the mop comes in. by mopping the floor, you don’t just clean it with water. You disinfect it. By using some mild dishwashing liquid, you effectively eliminate the bacteria that might be building up on the surface of the floor.
When mopping, make sure that you dilute a few drops of soap in a bucket of water and remove the excess water before you apply it to the floor.
Do this return at least once a week to ensure that your flooring is as spick and span as possible!
Don’t Leave Liquids for Long
No matter what kind of flooring you use, some liquids can easily damage them—not just make them dirty.
That being said, whenever a spill happens, be sure to quickly clean it up. When cleaning up, use a paper towel or a soft cloth, they would easily absorb the liquid, and the amount that’s left would be easily removed by using a cloth soaked in warm water.
Once you finish cleaning up the liquid, always wipe the part clean with a dry cloth, this is to ensure that nothing was missed while you cleaned it up.
In these cases, never use sponges or scrubbers for cleaning, especially for granite tiles. These can leave permanent scratch marks that will damage how the tile looks and feels.
