When it comes to hiring new BDRs for your company writing the help wanted ad might seem to be one of the easier parts of inside sales recruiting process.
However, your ad is competing with other ads. There are thousands of inside sales job posts for BDRs, SDRs, and AEs on job boards like Glassdoor, Indeed and ZipRecruiter. Candidates are picky about which roles they apply for. A weak job ad will attract mediocre candidates.
Here are some tips from the president of Inside Sales Staff, the world-leading insight sales recruiters.
To attract, hire, and retain talent, an inside sales recruiting ad should do the following:
- Make the ad attractive for the inside recruitment of BDRs, SDRs, and AEs. Be sure to specify if the job is remote or on-site.
- Use keywords in the ad like inside sales, remote sales, etc.
- Describe company culture as fully as possible. If the life-work balance is part of your culture be sure to mention it.
- Use video on your inside sales recruiting page. Show the company, the team members, etc.
- If you are a startup company or a team be sure to mention it in the interview process and the ad.
- Specify how much experience is needed and what the job skills and requirements are.
- Describe the career path of the inside sales job.
- Describe the salary and commission structure. 81% of inside sales reps will search by salary ahead of anything else. It’s OK to list a salary using the words “to $65,000”. Inside sales ads without salary information receive 20-37% less response according to ZipRecruiter.
- List the benefits package. Paid time off is a big benefit these days.
