A boiled egg and a hard-boiled egg are not the same. Today we will focus on how to make a perfect hard-boiled egg , but below I will tell you the difference between the different types of boiled eggs.
Types of eggs boiled eggs:
- Soft-boiled eggs : they can be cooked with or without the shell, and are characterized by keeping the yolk completely liquid inside, while the white is curdled. Its cooking time is about 4 minutes and to consume them we must make a hole in the upper part of the shell and remove it with a spoon, as we cannot peel it without breaking it.
- Poached eggs : to make them, the egg is cooked directly in water without the skin. The result is a clear curd and a fluid yolk. Its cooking time is about 3 minutes.
- Mollet eggs : they are cooked with the skin and are characterized by having a clear curd and a very fluid yolk. The result is very similar to soft-boiled eggs, but we can peel them. Its cooking time is 5-6 minutes.
- Hard-boiled eggs : these are boiled eggs that are characterized by their white and well-set yolk. Throughout this post, we will see its characteristics and how they are made.

Instructions step by step:
- Bring the water to the boil in a pan and carefully add the eggs one by one to the bubbling water. The easiest way to do this is with a flat trowel or spoon.
- Reduce the heat a little.
- Cook the eggs according to the desired consistency: 3 minutes = soft / 6 minutes = waxy / 10-12 minutes = hard.
- Remove with a ladle and serve.
- The egg white solidifies at 62º C and the yolk at 68º C. At home it is difficult to measure it, but considering that the water begins to boil at 100ºC, 11 minutes of cooking are enough.
