How to Add A Netgear Router to the Existing Network

Now what you have to do is open a web browser and type routerlogin.net into the field of address bar. Next, you will be prompted to fill the default login credentials and this step will directly redirect you to the home page of the smart setup wizard.

Add Wireless Router to the Existing Network

Before proceeding further, are you sure that your Netgear router is properly connected with your WiFi network? If not, then follow some below-given steps and complete the process of adding WiFi router to the home network:

  1. Make yourself 100% sure that you have a broadband cable for a new network in order to share files, data, and images between your computers.

  2. After that, select a wireless standard that is used commonly (A, B, G, and N). Well, you would be glad to know that new and updated AC standard is very fast, safe, and secured than the former ones. So, consider choosing AC for gaming and B and G for internet surfing.

  3. Now, connect your Netgear router to the existing main router with the help of a cable.

  4. On your PC, open a web browser and type 192.168.1.1 IP in the address bar.

  5. Access the AP router web interface using your PC.

  6. Click on the Continue button and let the Netgear genie detects the existing router on the network.

  7. Choose the Yes button and then hit Next.

  8. On the next page, select the Get IP Address Dynamically and click on the Next button.

  9. The AP router will reboot on its own and return to screen showing the WiFi settings f the main router.
