When you work for yourself, you theoretically have more opportunity, but you also have more responsibilities. Balancing your work, your home life, and your personal time can be difficult. The key to finding a healthy balance is to prioritize. Figure out what’s important to you, and figure out which time commitments are most important, then work to either eliminate around them, or find ways to cut back.

Stay on top of your schedule

It’s important to understand how to set your schedule, and also be realistic. For example, if you have a long commute to work, you’ll want to arrange your day to start work earlier and end work earlier. But if you have to spend extra time driving home from work, be sure to have extra time to relax and decompress before you head to bed.
