Eliminating plastic from the kitchen is one of the topics we have often talked about. Over the years you have managed to almost completely eliminate plastic from your kitchen through the use of glass containers for food, the choice of shopping in bulk as much as possible and not buying food products packaged with too much packaging and of course eliminating plastic bottles. In recent years, thanks to the development of the zero waste movement in the world and in Italy, the market offers alternative solutions that are not only ecological, but also beautiful and ethical.
Beeswax sheets for food: what they are
The beeswax sheets are wraps for wrapping food and are useful not only for storing food in the fridge, but also and above all for bringing the snack to school or office. They also work well for storing bread. The sheets of beeswax are generally made of organic cotton treated with beeswax, jojoba oil and natural resins.
We think of all the times we have wrapped something in cellophane, aluminum or freezing bags: with that action we have destined plastic to the pollution of the planet. But we can avoid this environmental impact very easily with glass jars, fabric bags and beeswax wraps.

A great alternative to plastic cling film
On a daily basis, we use plastic cling film to protect and store food in the fridge. Consequence: we also throw away a lot of plastic which pollutes the planet. In the kitchen, it is easy to adopt certain ecological gestures to limit waste: replacing plastic cling film with beeswax packaging is one of them.
What is beeswax packaging?
As a general rule, beeswax wrappers are made from organic cotton, beeswax, jojoba oil, pine resin or even olive oil. They are washable and reusable at least a hundred times. Thanks to the natural heat, the film modulates easily and adheres to the edges of a container like a cutlery. Easy to maintain, just run the film under cold water with a little Marseille soap or homemade dish soap.
