Elton John’s no. 1 tribute band “Almost Elton John” recently announced details of their anticipated upcoming performance in Russellville, AL. The show will take place at the Roxy Theater on Saturday, April 23rd at 7 pm. Jerred Price will lead the performance as Elton John.
Jerred “the Almost Elton John” Price started playing piano at the age of three, this was also when he first discovered—arguably the greatest country-pop artist—Sir Elton John. As Price grew, his passion for music and love for his idol only grew with him. In 2014, he started headlining his own show at Hard Rock Cafe on the world-famous Beale Street in Memphis, TN. He now regularly performs as Almost Elton John at the world-famous Lafayette’s Music Room as an artist-in-residence. Lafayette’s Music Room has hosted some of the biggest names in pop and rock music including Billy Joel, KISS, and Leon Russell.
For Elton John’s 60th Birthday, Jerred was the featured performer at “Lunch Around The World”, an event held by the Elton John AIDS Foundation to raise money for its cause. Price has also met his idol the Pinball Wizard himself on several occasions and there are multiple pictures of him with Elton John on Price’s Facebook profile (@jerredprice). The two share an otherworldly love for music and absolute devotion to humanitarianism.
Price actively works in efforts to improve the human condition and make the world a better place for those in suffering. In addition to the Elton John AIDS Foundation, Price has worked for Friends for Life, Mystic Krewe of Pegasus, Downtown Neighborhood Association, and Memphis Medical District Collaborative.
In 2020, he was nominated and approved by the Victory Fund Campaign Board giving him the opportunity to support the LGBTQ+ community and work toward making the world progress towards equality for everyone regardless of their race, gender, and sexual orientation. Victory Fund Campaign Board supports openly LGBTQ+ candidates running for official positions in the US government. The organization hopes to rid the government of prejudice against queer candidates. By supporting LGBTQ+ candidates in their endeavor to secure a position in the government, Victory Fund Campaign Board gives more power to the LGBTQ+ community, bringing the US closer to being truly a land of equal opportunity for everyone. Working for the Victory Fund Campaign Board, Price has gotten to meet some of the most influential and progressive leaders in the US.
